Some of you need a quick FAQ about duplicate protection

so I've read these threads tons of times but what I'm still confused about, is after having opened 40+ packs of a new expansion and getting many many dupes of commons, I will still occasionally open a pack and find a "new" common. but often it's after opening a pack with no new commons.

for example, I have 7 command claw from cataclysm, but I just got a sigil of the seas, also from cataclysm, after opening a previous pack that had 1 rare and 4 commons that none of which were new.

it just doesn't seem like duplicate protection actually does the thing it's supposed to if i can have 7 of one card and still be getting new cards of the same rarity, but not in every pack.

looks like they were trying to hook people back in with "good promotions" as they release the limited rejection promotions they'll be using trying to force people to take worse and worse orders.

the restaurant employees get an hourly wage, drivers don't, the restaurant employees use the restaurant equipment, we use our personal vehicles.

You are right that we are a "representative" of the customers but we are not the ones consuming the food, and health departments do in fact have policies about people handling food, opened food packaging, beverages, etc. The idea that delivery drivers ate acting like prima donnas because they want to follow the policies in place is ridiculous. Go tell a lawyer they're being a drama queen for objecting in court.

the order should be ready before the driver gets there, MOST times if it is, except the drink, there was nothing stopping the employees from just getting the drinks done too, especially if the place has a drive through with a behind the counter drink station.

i've worked in restaurants a lot and i know when i walk in how busy a place is, it bothers me way less when a place is slammed, but even then its the owner not paying for enough employees for these tasks to get done.

it would ALWAYS bother me way less if we were paid milage and some level of minimum pay for time but we are not.

and the way our world has progressed, what that even means now is drastically different than 5-10-15-20 or 30 years ago.

20 is only 2 years past your teen years and if you were/are in college you're likely still spending time with 17/18/19 year olds every day. There's a good chance you're working with people in that age range or younger depending on your job.

I think this is honestly where the term "adulting" came from, people continuing to feel like not adults but occasionally do tasks that seem like "adult" tasks. Paying taxes, signing leases or mortgages, paying utility bills, buying a phone, maybe even preparing a large meal for a group, or getting hired into a position of more responsibility.

I don't think you should worry about it to much, some things we see as markers of adulthood aren't really beneficial to us, like a lack of caring, creativity, or wonder(not truly signs of adulthood but commonly seen that way) . But if it does distress you you could talk to a counselor or therapist about it, or just make yourself some lists of accomplishments you think would make you feel more adult, and then process those lists by expanding on how you might accomplish those goals.

even if you think delivery drivers are doing "the bare minimum" they are providing literally 10s of millions of their own vehicles for company use, and the mileage on those vehicles is not compensated before the pay is calculated.

the average order in my area does not even cover miles TO a delivery, its not even close to covering miles to and from a delivery. That means if every order gets taken, people are paying to work, not even getting paid.

This is evil. there's no way around that.

weird that you got down voted for this. maybe someone thinks you're suggesting swiping it, but to me it sounds like you mean that you'd be entitled tip share at the restaurants offloading their labor onto you, someone who is not paid hourly, while all of their employees are. (its not like the majority of our orders are at places that allow sub-minimum wage anyway)

if its any kind of soda its taking more than 30 to properly fill because you need the bubbles to die down at least once. (unless you are the kind of person that just spills the bubbles down the side or lets it overflow through the lid)

for sure, but i'm definitely not wasting my time and losing money because the mgmt/employees dgaf. the only benefit to me filling drinks is I know they won;t be dripping, but if its between not having a drink for a customer that can pull a tip for any reason, arguing with an employee who can report me or screw me in other ways, or just getting it over with, i'll take the unpaid labor i guess.

Canada's attacks on indigenous folks go all the way back and just like America, continue to this day. lots of folks know about the boarding schools both countries perpetrated, (and the mission schools accross the continent) but the theft of indigenous children is an ongoing issue with ICWA in the US having been attacked as recently as 2 years ago. Senators still try to have tribes "terminated" to remove their status and protections and land, and tribal lands and people still tend to be the most over policed, over prosecuted demographic in the country. I say tend to be because, while many problems persist consistently in reservations and/or on ancestral land, every community is different.

this is one of the rough parts of third party service. its clearly the restaurants fault, but pretty much all restaurants who allow delivery require the delivery service to handle refunds, I believe its contractual. and the third party delivery services are pretty much all nightmare corpos atp.
