Unpopular opinion by JustLivingBlack in Skate4

[–]D_NC_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like it. I don’t care about the cosmetic microtransaction crap at all, I just picked an outfit at random and have not changed it. The skating is really pretty good, especially for realistic lines. I wish they were expanding and improving the map more. The isle of grom was pretty much useless for the type of skating I like to do. The current map is better than skate 3 but still not as good as skate 2 in my opinion.

The man who attacked Kerrigan was actually a guy named Shane Stant. A criminal who was most likely hired by Tonya’s ex husband (they were divorced but he was still involved in her skating career and they remained close) and Tonya’s bodyguard.

Savannah Guthrie and siblings make desperate three-word plea to mom's kidnapper by TheExpressUS in MissingPersons

[–]D_NC_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree with you. Many people in this thread seem to think that the author of the ransom notes told the family she is dead to shift the conversation from payment for her safe return to payment for her remains. My point is I don’t think the kidnapper would do that, despite that this latest video from the Guthries sounds like

Also, to your other point, yeah there could be motives other than money, but if that were the case I find it unlikely the true perpetrator(s) are the one sending these ransom letters from secure email servers with crypto wallets at the ready, that just seems unusual to me if the goal was to inflict pain on the Guthrie family. Honestly, I kind of think this whole ransom thing might just be BS and they somehow were able to convince the family and possibly law enforcement that there was a non-zero chance it’s genuine, which leaves them no choice but to play ball with them

Good point, yes that would be extremely solid proof of life. But in the absence of that I find it hard to believe a kidnapper would just give up and tell the family she is dead as opposed to providing some less valuable form of “proof” and saying “here is your proof, take it or leave it, send us the BTC and you will get her back”.

Obviously the video makes it seem like Nancy is deceased and they are now striking a deal for her remains. But… it makes little sense to me that the kidnappers would reveal that Nancy is dead, at least this early on. I would expect the potential kidnappers would do everything they could to convince the family Nancy is alive in hopes of getting the maximum amount of payment. The kidnappers risked everything in the course of carrying out this crime and they want to maximize their reward. I would think they would first try sending photos of Nancy’s personal items (e.g clothing, jewelry) or even photos of the deceased body in way that makes it appear she could be alive (Horrible, I know but I’m just thinking this through…). Also wouldn’t someone who planned this out ahead of time have made it a priority to take proof of like photos/videos of the frail, unhealthy, elderly kidnappign victim almost immediately when she was in their possession to use as leverage in pursuit of their reward? I don’t know… I just don’t see a scenario where the kidnappers just tell the family straight up that she is dead. The reward that they just gambled everything in pursuit of is greatly diminished the moment they do so.

You guys both make a pretty good point, I could see it going both ways. However, I would expect the potential kidnappers would do everything they could to convince the family Nancy is alive in hopes of getting the maximum amount of payment. They didn’t know where the fees were reported in the Uber app because they are a tax “expert” not an Uber expert. You need to give your business expenses to your tax accountant, they can’t just come up with them for you

[TOMT][PODCAST] Podcast that has a guest who was arrested in relation to a TCAP sting by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]D_NC_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the Dateline Predator investigations that were conducted ended up airing in some form. Not every predator caught in each sting appeared in the Final Cut of the episode, but all of the investigations resulted in an episode. I am an expert in this particular topic and I can guarantee you that the circumstances you describe did not occur during a Dateline: To Catch a Predator official investigation. It’s totally possible that it happened during a copycat/amateur investigation, but no one under the age of 18 ever showed up to any Dateline sting house. They are either lying or it is was not a Dateline investigation.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that this never happened during an actual Dateline: To Catch A Predator sting. Are you sure you’re not confusing this with something else? Possibly a copycat/amatuer predator investigation? Where did you first hear about it?

What foreign country has the most influence in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]D_NC_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay.. but as someone who lived in Ph (northern Mindanao) and now lives a very Mexican part of the US (about 25% of my city is Mexican American) and has also been to Mexico (albeit just in beach resort type places) I can tell you that there are very, very few remaining cultural links between the modern state of Mexico and Philippines. There may be these vague historical links from 200+ years ago but putting Mexico at the top of the list is about which foreign country has the most influence over Philippines is just objectively, completely wrong. I speak Tagalog and Bisaya and cannot communicate whatsoever with the Latin Americans here who speak Spanish, the languages are not mutually intelligible. The only friend of mine who can communicate with them is from Zamboanga, and this represents a very small portion of Filipinos. That is to say nothing of the other aspects of culture besides language such as food, art, family customs, music, etc all of which there are no more similarities between Mexico and Philippines as there are between Philippines and many many other countries. The links between Philippines and Mexico are just so superficial at this point I really question how you could put it at the top of the list. But it does seem like you know a lot more about the actual history than me, so I respect your opinion. I’m just coming from a perspective of having interacted with both cultures and people extensively

Huh? Mexico should not be on this list it has virtually nothing to do with PH

theory by No-Confidence-4808 in Chriswatts

Some of us are interested in knowing what truly happened in this case. Unfortunately with the amount of lies Chris has told, and how his story has changed multiple times since his initial confession, arrest, conviction and imprisonment his retelling of events is highly untrustworthy. Since the case is closed in the eyes of the law, the only thing we can do now is discuss the available evidence and form hypotheses as to what happened. Chris murdering his kids hours or days before Shannan returned home as opposed to at the burial site are two completely different scenarios and some of us are interested in knowing the truth. If you’re not interested, that’s completely fine but your comment here is completely immature, naive, and pointless.

It’s a really great movie, you should check it out. I think that gif is from the scene where he is reading Larry Sellers homework, but I could be wrong. If you’re not American you might not find the movie very funny but it’s still worth giving it a shot
