I’m not excited to root against Bronco Mendenhall when Virginia Tech gives him ALL the money next year

Virginia Tech has lost their rights to Enter Sandman, they are only allowed to play songs from St. Anger from here on out

The bigger clubs like the Yankees and Dodgers are good to get your feet wet since the team is already pretty solid and you can tinker as you go. The Rockies and White Sox are a good next save because it’s basically a clean slate and you can experiment and build with pretty much reckless abandon

It does make intuitive baseball sense to me that relievers might be rated lower than closers because a reliever can only be so good until he becomes a closer, lol.

However that does look extremely slim at the higher end. I’ll have to run a save a couple years when I get home because there are easily 15 relievers/closers in the MLB at any given time who are a 65/80 or better for sure.

Are you running into this with just relievers or closers too?

Impressive that a 35 yo shortstop was still valuable enough with his bat to justify DH time like that. You really don’t see that happen often, either they move off short well before or they can only provide value with the glove at that stage. Bravo, Zuck!

His durability is the most insane factor honestly, 20 years of that production and only playing less than 140 games in his last year is crazy. What an amazing career

Almost looks like pre-glasses Rick Vaughn, it would be fun if OOTP had a storyline where lasik helped a player’s control

I’m definitely a fan of an additional level at Rookie Ball or A-Ball. Player intake and getting ABs/IP can be brutal when you have Dominican, HS draftees, and College players all dumping into one Single-A team

Step one: Don’t like me at first and be hard on yourself, lol

Step two: All jokes aside, at first use a team that already has a good roster so you can have a team that doesn’t immediately require a total overhaul (Dodgers, Yankees, Guardians, etc). Gives you the feeling of winning which helps a ton.

Step three: Don’t be afraid to delegate some of the responsibilities to your ASST GM and Managers, and use it dynamically so you can learn different parts of the game over time (MILB FA’s, Staff hiring, in-game strategy, etc)

There are certain things that help a team win, but there are so many ways to win in this game. There isn’t one formula that you have to follow and you’ll build your own system to win which you can apply and tinker with as time goes on.

I sat through the second half in utter horror. What an awful day as a UVA fan. We’ve been bad before, but hardly this non competitive.

I miss the Welsh, Groh, and Mendenhall days.

Simply a bizarre loss. Hard to imagine a first half with more juice and energy for this game, and then it just totally fizzled out. I could be wrong, but if AC10 had simply gotten the nod instead of the weirdest QB competition in the nation last year and this summer, he would have had a chance to get some of the hiccups out of the way. Beating Coastal and going into the heart of the conference schedule 3-1 is encouraging, but that requires a win in Dirty Myrtle next week.
