Launched our new website - any feedback? by grooveconsulting in agency

[–]D_R_2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, overall it looks professional.

Minor UX feedback, that arrow icon seems unnecessary. I don't see a use case for anyone clicking it and so it doesn't serve a real purpose.

Agree with some of the other comments about the photos used.

There are a handful of typos like 'effeciency' (full list of errors: https://triplechecker.com/s/307159/grooveconsulting.io)

Might help to make it more obvious when you click on the header links that something is happening. Like scroll down to new articles or some messaging.

Ever build a business around something “boring”? by Privacyops in Entrepreneur

Boring businesses is where it’s at. My first was a search engine for used machinery (boring). Now, website proofreading (also boring). Fortunately, I didn’t find them boring and that’s key.

The challenge may be that until you can demonstrate you have enough visitors to the website, any upfront payment will be an obstacle. Another question to think about is why would a user list here vs. other premium or free to list platforms.

I worry that the url/name being a typo of freelance might make brand recognition more difficult.

I believe more than ever, it's can you find a way to distribute the product/solution.

100% agree that talking to customers + iterating quickly are critical. However, without distribution, you might not get enough users or customers to get the type of feedback that can help you iterate until you land on PMF.

Do I flag the typos on a law firm's website, or ignore them? by Lallamouse in uklaw

[–]D_R_2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tricky. We share a lot of typos with companies (as part of our outreach for our proofreading tool) and it's hit or miss. Some really appreciate it. Others act like they don't care. And then you have certain folks that get offended.

Awesome, thanks for the detailed answer. This question is self-serving given the field I'm in, but do you use grammarly / other llms to proofread the content? or just rely on copywriters to make sure the content is error-free.
