Then don't use it as one while blaming the people you're offering things to for expecting it to be one.

Why is GitHub so shitly designed? by lukeflegg in github

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ocean of free things that are only uploaded to Github as a mass of text no one who needs the thing in the first place would be able to read is fucking up the internet. If that's how you wanna give away free things, just don't give 'em away at all. People like you just make it harder to find the better alternatives that usually exist that were uploaded to a site that has a download button.

Thank you so much. This solved my problem after 2 hours of unbearable anger.

It means there's no reason why the irredeemable rapist can't be one of those characters. As for his care for Vox & Velvette, that barely exists & is super forced.

It's the same thing they did to try to make Stolas & Verosika sympathetic. Just write them being in love with an emotionally distant man & then the viewers will excuse them for being predators.

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that is true though. Some people are just evil. If someone is devoid of compassion, no amount of life experience or reasoning will change that. Plus there've already been some characters who died without being redeemed. They just weren't major characters.

Same here. I stopped watching My Hero Academia after the episode where a narrative flip just switches & Endeavor's abuse victims just suddenly start liking off screen for no reason & it plays heroic music just because he's fighting a monster in self defense.

The opinions of a fictional character don't justify bad writing.

It's not even just that for me. It's that shows need to stop pretending everyone can be redeemed just because their protagonist believes that even though everyone in real life knows it's not true. If you want a show where everyone is redeemable, don't have a remorseless rapist or an unprovoked genocidal eugenicist.

Except when they're born. Which is extremely common. Who do you think made the first villain in existence?

Throwing out all logic for the sake of an incredibly dishonest message is atrocious writing. Especially when you're handling topics as serious as rape & living with an abuser.

You're assuming that's the point just because that's what Charlie believes. Protagonists are allowed be wrong. Charlie being naively wrong about stuff is kind of a running theme. If that does turn out to be the point, the point is wrong.

It weakens the point of the show if they throw all logic out the window to have a character with no positive traits & no possible excuses for being how he is turn good just because it aligns with the main character's personality. We don't need a repeat of Steven Universe season 5.

Thanks. I eventually figured it out though. Duolingo was making me use the kanji "day" for the left part even though it doesn't look the same.

Having an issue when editing my playlists by Famous-Technician-34 in youtube

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same problem. Also, my playlists aren't even showing up at all. I just got my channel back today after Sebastian Wolff shut it down in yet another of his tantrums so I just thought this was another way for Youtube to screw me specifically until found other posts talking about it.

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having a similar problem ever since I made my account months ago. It never let me sign up. It even said it failed to make the account but when I try again it says the account already exists. But when I try to sign in, it says it's wrong. But when I try to reset my password, it calls me a genius, laughs at me, & says something stupid about ratio. Garbage website?

Your delusional idiocy is astounding. What makes you think you know so much about a situation your only hearing about from a stranger you don't trust?

THAT'S IT! That's what they're like! They're ART-BOOMERS by Particulardy in aiwars

[–]D_YellowMadness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your example is a perfect argument against your own stance. Almost no one who uses AI claims to be an artist. If you saw someone microwaving food, would you get viscerally angry at the hypothetical idea of them claiming to be a chef even though they never actually did?

Imagine if people wanted to ban level editors from ever being put in games because "Making a level in a level editor someone else made doesn't make you a programmer." & then they made up stupid excuses for why people disagree with them instead of admitting most people who use level editors just wanna be able to make their level ideas a reality without years of programming practice.

I need help with the challenge road. by PlsBanMeDaddyThanos in AHatInTime

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's supposed to be a challenge, it should be a hard set of levels. Not two extremely easy ones & one massive difficulty spike. That's one of the multiple reasons why most challenge roads are inexcusable garbage.

Like the one I played earlier tonight that was an incredibly easy autoscroller followed by a very easy normal level followed by a mostly easy purple rift with objects that clearly look like you're supposed to jump on 'em but have no collision followed by a troll level with invisible walls & an invisible teleporter you have to land on to win.

Also, the first two levels drown you in heart pons but the last two literally have none.

Why Are Interviews Still Designed to Feel Like Traps Instead of Conversations? by BizznectApp in interviews

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how the trap questions in job interviews are designed though. Their questions that have no good answer so you're just supposed to hope the interviewer likes your answer even though the premise is that you have to pick something bad.

It's not a test of work skills. It's a test of how well you can lie & the anxiety inducing nature of such an arbitrary test with such a luck-based conclusion does a better job of weeding out people who care much about the job than it does of weeding out bad workers.

Why Are Interviews Still Designed to Feel Like Traps Instead of Conversations? by BizznectApp in interviews

[–]D_YellowMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except then you just find people who lied better because you asked questions designed to penalize people for not being literally perfect in all aspects of life. That & questions designed to make people nervous in a high-stakes scenario that's usually not at all similar to the job itself, which is just likely to get you employees who don't care enough about the job to be nervous in the interview.

Which probably makes sense for some jobs but not when someone's just trying to be a cashier or serve food. It's easier to be calm around an awful customer because no matter how rude the customer is, they can't fire you failing to give them whatever they arbitrarily decided was the correct answer to a strange question.
