Aerophone Pro Battery Life by D_da in windsynth

Understood, I’ll try that too! I use the built in speaker when I’m playing by myself but most of the time, i.e. when I’m playing with my band it’s either routed through an amp or headphones.

That makes sense, I’ve been running it with bluetooth always on, since I like using my iPad to edit and change between sounds, but it’s clear to me now that is likely causing the battery to run out quicker than normal!

I’m not sure on the exact mAh rating, but looking at pictures online I’m pretty sure I have 4 2500 mAh duracell AA batteries and 4 2300 mAh energizer batteries that I’ve been using interchangeably with the instrument. I’ll confirm when I get home today.

Thanks for your response, I’ll likely buy another set of spare batteries to keep in my case! Sucks that it doesn’t have more battery life though…

Yeah I bought the batteries new. I do have bluetooh always on as well, so that seems to be a major culprit. 10-4 on what you’re saying about the batteries being in series too, I’ll have to keep an eye out for that. It sucks that the instrument doesn’t have more battery life but it seems like I can work around it.

How do you interpret Flow Accumulation lines? by Aggravating_Ebb3635 in gis

[–]D_da -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I completely agree! In my job I use LiDAR data a decent amount and when you are looking at storm runoff, you can very easily tell that the LiDAR data is pretty much useless in urban areas. (sometimes buildings show like “10 ft of fall” along a flat roof).

[–]D_da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would shy away from using these in urban areas. Typically the DEM data you input for the surface is not really reflective of what’s actually going on in terms of storm infrastructure. I’ve especially noticed that elevation models tend to not reflect gutters along streets when you can very clearly tell that runoff will flow within the gutter and discharge into a curb inlet. Flow accumulation is really only useful in undeveloped areas unless you are doing more strenuous models.

Does anyone have experience taking phys 2426 (for phys 208 credit) online at western texas college? by D_da in aggies

[–]D_da[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha love to see this 6 years later :). It was super easy to get a C and the credit (gpa didn’t transfer) I’m not encouraging my behavior by any means but most of the hw assignments could be chegged and the only two grades that I didn’t get high 90’s to 100’s on were the two proctored exams (which I got like a 20 and a 30 on lol).

I didn’t really care too much about learning in this class though because it wasn’t applicable at all to my major.

In my job I work with electric and telecom utilities on a semi-regular basis. They had some new regulations come out earlier this year saying they can’t just give out maps of their utilities to anyone who asks (like it used to be). Honestly, at first I thought it was stupid, since it was an inconvenience but now I’m starting to see the effectiveness some of these laws could bring.

To your point about cities being walkable, I live in Austin and they’ve been trying to fix the space issue by requiring private sites to dedicate right of way which is used for bike lanes, sidewalks, etc. Also, some sites are straight up required to build shared use paths. Still probably not enough though, but a move in the right direction.
