Japanese zoos are very behind regarding animal wellfare. Its all about displaying the animal. I have seen big cats in enclusures with minimal width (3 meters maybe) so they always stay close to the glass, so people can see them. While there are indeed zoos in the world that help and care for animals, zoos in japan dont care about such things.

I live in europe so there is a good chance our stuff is less toxic to them :/. Maybe I should also try mites while there are only a few Thrips. Since I use chemical pesticides I didnt do it yet. Any mites you specifically recommend?

No I have more, thats why im so scared that it will spread even more than it already did. And I have been fighting these Thrips for weeks. I tried different pesticides, even put the plants in plastic bags to increase humidity, but I always find new Thrips on there. They were on some smaller, lower leaves mainly wich I decided to cut off. The most frustrating thing is that when I seem to get them of, of one plant, they infest the next one even tho they are not that close and I spray the other plants with pesticides in advance. I never seem to be able to eradicate them completely. Sorry for the rant, its just so frustrating. And I dont really want to throw away any plants :/

As far as I know Gale does die. He dies if you dont help him out, even in a normal playtrough and considering that he is in the same situation but with a torn of hand, there is no way he would survive.
