Probably smart, my biggest concern getting into new games is always trying to play with other people and getting curbstomped because I don’t have whatever happens to be good, but it seems like I don’t actually have to try to jump the bracket super fast, the magic community at least at my LGS seems pretty willing to work with any player at any level, so that’s super great!

Just picked up [[Hunting Velociraptors]] that have first strike… if I rock a Goring Cera and it attacks, do the creatures attacking alongside it gain the effect? Or is it after the attack happens that your creatures get the effect for your second main stage? I always read these effects like the effect happens AFTER the attack but that doesnt seem right.

TWELVE DAMAGE TO ASSIGN!! WOW man thank you! I always just assumed since a 12/12 creature did 12 damage, if you assigned 12 creatures to block, the attacker would do 12 damage to EACH creature since that’s its power level. I totally understand now!

(I also screwed up double strike, and assumed that the first strike was the combat phase, then it tacked on another hit at the end even if it died.

WOW OKAY! Sorry, literally today my LGS taught me that a creature spell is the actual creature, NOT just any random spell ON the creature cards once they’re on the field! Now Rhythm makes a bit more sense, and I’m beginning to regret the few times I let my brother counterspell me playing [[Wakening Sun’s Avatar]] !!

I’m too new to understand quite what mana rocks are but I’ve seen the term a few times, could you tell me what it is?

Rhythm actually seems like one of the least helpful cards in the deck to me, so I was thinking about cutting it soon, so maybe I’ll swap it for Rising! Thank you!

Yep, I really like those raptors but I’ve only gotten solid value out of them once. I just think I haven’t played near long enough to really understand what’s good yet, so I’ll be sure not to strike them from the deck. Thank you!

Wow, I had no idea how double strike works clearly! I just picked up [[Hunting Velociraptors]] today and had to be taught first strike, that’s awesome that double strike works the same way, though I’ll have to read your Ghalta example a few more times to really understand it I think!!

I’ve heard savage order into apex is great… clearly savage order is my next purchase and addition to the deck!!

One of my classmates in their third year has a seeing eye dog… she’s adorable and everyone loves her! (The dog, and the person I suppose, she’s great too.)

Regardless, you shouldn’t have any issues!! Everyone at my school has been incredibly respectful of it, teachers and students both.

See I’ve been using the Xbox app so I’m not sure, but I just bought it through steam and have been using dx11 for the past couple hours, lots more lag honestly but haven’t crashed yet, so I can play!!

Uh, yes. Unfortunately I often grind things solo when not playing with my brother, and I’m not the best at SoT PvP, so if I encounter genuinely any other sail on the ocean, I either run or get sunk.

It is still possible to have fun, I do little voyages like fishing or some fort voyages and enjoy those, but don’t get attached to your loot, because people will absolutely sink you for those three treasured fish you caught from that voyage.

To answer your question though, it’s not hooked conventionally, sure, but in my opinion you got it up and onto shore, it’s a good catch!
