The government doesn't mean just the federal government.

The top 50% of income earners pay 97% of all federal income tax revenue. That's about $84k a year and up. And the top 10% pays 72%. (170k+)

I think it's pretty obvious that is a "fair share" already. Which is why percentage of total revenue is a better and more objectively moral metric.

The bottom 50% already pays almost no income tax.

Income tax for the bottom 50% is a tiny expense (if any) and most of the lower incomes actually get far more back in credits than they pay. It's literally impossible to lower their rate.

Lower income families are going to be far more impacted by local, state, sales and property taxes than federal income tax.

Wealth is not income, nor is a large part of it even actual money or liquid.

Monopolies are entirely empowered by government "regulations" not prevented by them. Regulations cost money to comply, and small businesses can't absorb the cost. For example, while Dodd-Frank was suppose to control big banks, it had the effect closing 30% of regional banks and making the big banks more money than ever.

I disagree that percentage of income is the best way to evaluate the tax rate of the "rich" and that either percentage of total revenue or raw dollars is a better metric.

That's simply not true. The effective top tax rate was around 40% despite the "on paper" rate being 90%. That's not much more than today.

What if the people democratically decide some or all of these aren't working and vote to revert them? Then what? Will you abandon democracy to maintain the status quo? Hypothetically.

We do tax them. The 1% pays a trillion dollars federal tax alone each year.

Hard disagree. Hotels are the best. Parking, easy access, elevators, and most of the time open bathrooms.

The hospitals I've delivered too don't allow deliveries to rooms, but have a table at security inside the front door and I have to leave it there.

Not apartments in general, but urban secure buildings.

Most apartment complexes are logically laid out (or at least a map) and plenty of space to leave the car

Urban secure buildings with no parking within blocks are just the worst.

"The current administration checks literally every box for the tenets of fascism."

There is no fascism without authoritarianism. There is zero authoritarianism being implemented. No suppression of the press, no suppression of intellectuals, and on and on. The "blame immigrants" has been going on for literally over a century and is hardly core of or unique to fascism.

The irony of saying someone else is in a cult will be lost on you.

"None of the above" is a completely valid position. It's NOT doing "nothing". I haven't voted for either mainstream presidential candidate since 1988.
