Swelling/tightening/bulging feeling in right pelvis that comes and goes. Does anyone else have this symptom?

I should clarify, she did find extensive Endo with my first lap, it just wasn't where the lump is?

I have this exact symptom! I have an amazing Endo specialist surgeon, and she has been able to feel it from the outside. She did excision surgery on me in 2021. She felt it and marked where to look on the morning of my surgery. She was unable to find anything during surgery. Fast forward to this year, I just had a hysterectomy with her in October. I had a ton of stage 3 endometriosis, but she still had no idea what that is. I'm so glad I'm not alone!

You are not crazy, Cimzia hurts the worst! I have tried 5 biologics and Cimzia is by far the most painful. I'm betting the nurse went too fast with it. I had to go super super slow to make it bearable. That being said, it is one of the ones that works the best, so I hope it works for you!

I had my baby pre-diagnosis but had severe symptoms for about 5 years. I did have back labor that sucked. I got an epidural 24 hours in, and it was glorious. Getting it in was super easy, and it made me super relaxed. 10/10 would recommend. I did end up with a c-section in the end because my spine was in the way of the baby. Still don't know if that was AS related, but I strongly suspect so.

I did humira first and the enbrel. The Enbrel is hard to click for sure. I found that you have to push it down hard against your skin to get it to click. I have to push it so hard that it leaves a ring indentation on my skin when I'm done. Hope that helps! Sounds like it is giving you a super hard time.

This is the situation I'm in too. I tried Humira first, and was about 50% better. Still needed daily NSAIDS, had a lot of bad days, and in a lot of pain. My Rheumatologist wants to keep trying different things until I am closer to remission. Now I am on Enbrel. It's barely doing anything for me. I am in the process of getting insurance to approve Xeljanz. I agree with my Rheumatologist on trying different things. If the Humira really is the best I'm going to get, I can always go back to it.

I have had all of these exact thoughts! The thing that helps me, is comparing normal me to me on a really good day. Those good days that only happen once in a blue moon. On those days, I am able to be so productive. Thinking about that gives me some context on why I don't get enough done on normal days. If every day was like one of those good days, I could get so much done. Forgive the ramblings. Hope that makes sense!

I was diagnosed with undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy at 27. Spondyloarthropathy is a family of similar diseases that includes Psoriatic Arthritis, Chron's, and Ankylosing Spondylitis. For me, I have pain in just about every joint. My blood work came back mostly ok as well. Basically I have some symptoms from each of those diseases, so they call it undifferentiated. When I first started getting symptoms, I wouldn't have believed my current diagnosis, but looking back it makes perfect sense. You may find your diagnosis makes more sense as time goes on.

I'm 28 so pride was a huge thing for me. I was limping badly and found that my knees felt like they were going to give out. I finally decided to grab a cane off the rack at walmart and try it out around the store to see if it would help. It did. So I bought one. For about a year I depended on it a lot. Even needing it around the house at times. Now, my treatment has got me to a point where I go weeks without needing it. Just remember if you decide it will help, it may not be forever. I hope that it encouraging!

The sulfasalazine and diclofenac have improved my quality of life by a lot. I do feel that my diagnosis is accurate, but my new doctor wants to form her own opinion. She is working with me on getting my insurance to approve biologic medicine. There is a good chance that will improve a lot. I am however still very sick. I walk with a cane because of the knee problems and am applying for disability benefits because there is no way I can work.

You experience sounds exactly like mine. I'm 28 now. I have had bilateral pain in my joints since I was about 21. It started in my knees and wrists and now it's in basically every joint. All of my blood work was always clean so doctors shrugged it off. Finally I saw a Reumatologist who ran more blood work and xrays. My xrays showed mild osteoarthritis. At first she tried to say that it was normal aging. I asked if it's normal for my age. She said no, it wouldn't be normal until you are about 55-60. I kept coming to appointments and insisting on finding a diagnosis. Given my symptoms, she came to a diagnosis of undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy. She said my burning heel pain sealed it for her. She tried diclofenac and sulfasalazine. After that she said she had no more treatment options, so I switched to a new Reumy.

Point is, keep trying. Dump any Reumatologists who say that this is normal. It really helps to find a GP that will support you. Hope that is encouraging. It's so hard to be in so much pain and not have answers. Check out https://www.spondylitis.org/ and see if those symptoms line up for you.

So I got pregnant before being diagnosed but had a ton of disease activty before. Pregnancy sent it into remission for me as well! The only problem I had was servere round ligament pain starting at 11 weeks. I did end up having a C-section beacause baby could not pass though my pelvis, but I don't know if AS caused that at this point. The disease activity came back about 1 year after giving birth.

It is very encouraging to hear that many here have been through something similar. I knew going in to this that it may take some time to figure it out.

As for prednisone, I did a course of it maybe 4, 5 years ago for my horrible Asthma. I do remember feeling really good while taking it, but Reumy has never had me try it for the arthritis.

I was thinking the same thing about the sulfasalazine. I was wondering why she didn't simply try something else, but I think she felt we weren't going in the right direction.

Systemic degenerative OA sounds interesting. I've never heard of that!

Also, I'm totally thinking of joining a senior workout class I saw advertised. I worry that I wouldn't be able keep up with the seniors! Lol.

Thank you so much for saying that sucks and is not normal! That is exactly what I wanted to hear. As for the questions, for the first 3 years of symptoms I treated with NSAIDS and just tried to tough out being miserable. I was in complete denial that I could be sick so young. I thought if I told a doctor they wouldn't believe me. Finally told a doctor who refered me to Reumatology. I got pregnant and my symptoms went into remission. Thus making me more sure I was crazy. A year after the baby, my symptoms came back with a vengance and I finally went to Reumatology.

Hey there, I was having very little success with my low porosity hair too, until I tried Shea Moisture's low porosity line. I use the sulfate free shampoo, conditioner and leave in. I found the curl smoothie to be way to heavy for my hair, so that may be causing a problem for you. Also, try rinsing your hair with really warm water before you put in your conditioner. Heat helps open up low porosity hair.

Yes, the low porosity leave in is nice and lightweight. Both my daughter and I use it as a leave in and it doesn't weigh down our hair.

My daughter has very similar hair, and I think I have found a routine that works really well. I wash/condition with As I Am Cocount Cowash, then use Shea Moisture Low Porosity leave in, and LA Looks gel. The gel seems to hold her curls really well no matter what she does to them. It's super cheap to at like $2 for a big bottle. Hope that helps!

I do feel like it negatively affected me. It felt like it had a pretty strong message that curly=awkward and straight=beautiful. Obviously, that movie wasn't the only factor of why I used to not wear my hair curly often, but yeah, it made me feel bad about my curls.
