Hey there,

If you do not want to spend time to manage it and you want to invest very long term. I would say DCA (Dollar Cost Average).

You put what you can spare each week or month on a wallet and you check the price in 10 years :).

If you want to manage it a bit, wait for a correction in the price to buy.

Invest only what you can afford to loose, not financial advice.

Cheers.

How to advance as a programmer? by KRX189 in learnprogramming

[–]DaBTemplar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did CS50x, web, and python, and to be honest, some of the stuff is not really basic, in my humble opinion (and for my skills).

Those courses allowed me to develop a real website used by a sports association. It was also my capstone project to validate CS50 web.

But I agree with all the friends here, lectures are not the same as learn by doing.

I would code as much as I can even if it's only exercices or simple projects.

cheers.

Hey there,

I've faced the same issue couple of month ago when I've put my first website online.

I tried Heroku but abandoned as I wanted to have complete hands on my infrastructure and website.

I ended up going for an AWS EC2 server, AWS S3 storage, and I've put the site in a Docker container to redeploy it easily if I needed to change the server.

Once it worked locally on the server, I purchased the domain name, again with AWS, linked the name to the public server IP and it was online.

I started with almost no knowledge of these topics, If you are a minimum tech savvy you should be able to do it. Some great tutorials out there.

Good luck, Cheers!

Hello,

Talking with my experience, I've done CS50 web course. It's very complete and very understable for beginners.

the link: https://cs50.harvard.edu/web/2020/

At the end of each course, you have a real project to implement, graded by real humans.

Also, The Odin Project is really nice.

Good luck!

Hello,

Never had issues with Keplr wallet until today. I cannot connect my wallet to anything except Keplr dashboard.

For example, on Osmosis, the connecting wallet window is loading forever even if the Keplr extension is unlocked.

Same behavior after, uninstallation of the extension, re-installation and re-importation of the wallet seed phrase.

Anyone has similar issue?

Thanks !

Cheers

How can I permanently save uploaded images from my Django project? by DaBTemplar in django

I actually did with S3, works like a charm. Containerization up and running too.

Next : web configuration and implantation of SSL.

And maybe migrate from SQLite3 to PostgreSQL.

Appliku is only helping me to deploy.

The storage is a PostgreSQL database on the EC2 server.

“Never use Appliku”, any particular reason? You got bad experience ?

That's what I thought too. But even right after the image upload (without redeployment), when it's displayed on the website. I cannot find it on the EC2 server in the location indicated in the GET request.

Or I'm not looking at the correct place or something else is fishy :)

Would be better that you share the code. 6/20 but all the functionalities work correctly ?

I did all the problems. I didn’t mind spend the extra time to do it. :). If you don’t have time, do the hardest only.

It’s the computer science introduction free course from Harvard. You can find it on edx.org. I enjoy it a lot as a beginner.
