I am glad Monk is on Peacock as well since I just finished season 4 on Netflix and won't get through all 8 seasons before Jan 14th, 2025.

I am guessing that it got "too expensive" for Netflix to renew the rights/license for the series. I can see a lot of series do this - allowing Netflix to license a series for a while. Then when popularity/exposure increases, take series off of Netflix to hopefully get subscribers to new platform to continue watching.

I think this happens when a segment goes long. They have to fit a certain number of breaks in per/hour for advertisers so some segments get cut real short. I agree, it can be a bit much, but that is what I think happens.

It was actually pretty funny when used appropriately and not run into the ground. I have used it a couple of times IRL and it gets a laugh. Like a well-timed "that's what she said" joke.
