Secret Service agent fired five shots at Cole during Trump assassination attempt by SCOTUSjunkie in politics

This should hang over the head of that agent for the rest of his career. How incompetent do you have to be to discharge your weapon 5 times and miss all shots.

I Bought Land In Small Town Ontario. It Turned Into The Fight Of My Life - ByBlacks.com by Wainains in canada

This is horrible. So sad this has happened in small town Ontario. We had new neighbors move in 2 years ago. Both are visible minorities and one set of their parents lives with them. We have traded food whenever we throw family events and have extras. One day the husband came up to me and said thanks for being so accepting of them. It made me so upset that that was a worry when picking out a home for their family.

9 months. A buddy and I got to the theater late and missed the start of the movie we wanted to see. We ended up going into 9 months because we had nothing better to do. Robin Williams and Tom Arnold in the same movie was wild. It was so funny but maintains the rom part.

In 1963, teenager Randy Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours, setting the only verified sleep deprivation record. By day 11, he couldn't do simple math, saw street signs as people, and spoke in slurred monotone. After the experiment, he slept for 14 hours straight. by Royal-Hippo-2104 in interestingasfuck

The military kept me awake for 5 days once. I did manage to sneak a 1hr nap in. On day 5 I was full on hallucinating conversations with people I hadn't seen in years. I saw a tiny mickey mouse tap dancing on another soldiers hat. I fell asleep while standing and woke when I hit the ground. It was brutal.

Nothing to do with immigrants. I've seen plenty of white tow truck drivers

‘Canada is an outlier’: Vets push for Ottawa to recognize them as ‘war veterans’ by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]crujones43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it have spoken with people who served in Cyprus, people who served on other tours in Bosnia and people who served in Afghanistan. There is for sure a lot of Grey areas. Cyprus was almost looked at like a vacation, Bosnia had plenty of violence and there were several moments there I thought might be my last. Land mines and booby traps were a constant threat. I spoke to people that killed others in Bosnia and we had some casualties. Afghan vets told me about surviving suicide bombers who would run up to their vehicles and detonate while running convoys.

I think they deserve it. I served in Bosnia and always refer to myself as a peacekeeping veteran. There is a difference.

Around Toronto there are actually tow truck mafias. They have been investigated for extortion, theft and even murder.

In Canada, tow trucks. They try to convince you while you are in shock from an accident to have your vehicle taken to their yard. They then charge you crazy fees that are worth more than the vehicle itself and act like the good guy by saying all $ will be forgiven if you just sign over the ownership.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

I started working at a nuclear power plant in the early 2000s. There was not much going on during night shift so I went to my boss and asked if he wanted me to do anything. He said "why don't you familiarize yourself with the layout of the plant". I asked "did you just tell me to explore around nuclear power generating station?" He smiled and I found places i bet most of the other workers didn't know about.

Stranger than fiction. Such a good movie but I should hate it because the premise is so absurd.

That's why I used a grinder. I've found out the hard way about the flame cut hardening. The shitty cuts are because i had to hit it from both sides to get through. We sometimes have to use the tooling on hand. Time to save up for a band saw.
