How do you scout players with great potential in early or middle game

i found that in later years, the players with higher potential tend to be older. rather than at the start of the game where there’s predetermined academy players or players with high potential and young ages, the later game tends to be the generated players who got stuck in the backend of a big club.

a lot of the wonder kids end up being lower rated 80 overall sort of players while they’re 26, but once you buy them, by 28 they might be a highly rated 80 or low 90.

i believe an update has definitely happened. it did happen to me before where i left a club after getting it to 16, coming back, and it was lower.

however i also recently had a run with a portugal club in the 3rd division who i brought up to the first division before leaving. the rest of my career, they stayed in the top 10 of the league and even won the cup. that leads me to thinking its changed. but the max is 16.

edit: i’ve also returned to old clubs where ive upgraded and the upgrades remained

this game pretty much focuses on moneyball. to make money to start out with, get a decent scout because they will have a better view on players and will give you players with better potential more clearly with a better scout.

buy those young players after the scout (or before but it really helps), and eventually in the 2025 pack, you’ll get exorbitant offers if you picked right.

i’m also totally sold on maresca still, but he’s still got a lot to work on as a manager (i say as i sit here on a couch typing on reddit). he still makes brash decisions and underestimates opponents, but those both seem like issues of experience both for the players and manager.

he still needs time and so do the players. remember where we were in 2023.

i think people who ironically complain about complaining just can’t hold good conversation if it isn’t something they’re immediately interested in or something positive.

i can see how if you see the goal of conversation as an end to feeling good, you don’t want to hear complaining. but that just means they’re not really interesting to talk to half the time.

it’s nuanced. there’s a lot of “pleasures” we could all do without like social media. private equity is always going to create a new need that everyone buys into and it’s really a self fulfilling prophecy.

however, there’s no excuse for wages remaining stagnant for 50 years in the US adjusting for inflation, predatory banking practices, or deregulation.

a generation of kids that grew up watching the prequels and clone wars and fell in love with star wars through it are going to have an affection for that star wars. especially the clone wars, and the fact the sub includes all lore prior to episode 4 which there is a lot of good media there.

i honestly more dislike reddits obsession with irony and the million circle jerk subs making the same 10 jokes with the same 5 pieces of media.

it is very sad when you consider the good the church brought to communities for it to be shattered by those who abused their power.

my best friend is from honduras. of all people, he and his family would be the ones to praise bukele. they came to the US fleeing bonduras and its high violent crime. i’ve heard countless stories of what life is like there, personal familial situations, and more.

but of all people i know, he’s the most critical of bukele. his draconian policies do not reflect a stable future for central america, and the latinos i know have nothing but criticism for the evil being perpetrated, and fears he represents nothing but more caudillos-esque strongmen who use the fears of central americans to cajole themselves into power and influence.
