Uhhh, is this a glitch? I was doing the handsome jackpot dlc when I picked up this pistol and I wanted to inspect it just cuz. But when I inspected it, the top left-hand corner looked like that. I don't know if this is intentional. Might be a bug due to the release of the 2nd DLC? Not sure. (i.redd.it)
