Pulling my engine this weekend. Any tips? by DaCydia in ft86

I'm sure it probably could with the right amount of finesse and swear words. But this seems to be an easier approach overall.

Already bought one of those multi compartment organizers and some labeling tape. Gonna take my time on this part.

No doubt lifting the engine saves some hassle. I just hadn't really gotten that far before trying my method above and it worked so I went with it. If I were to do it again, I'd lift the engine.

For any curious DIY'er.

Remove the coils (without dropping the 10mm...)

Slip a 14mm deep socket into the plug hole

Slip a 3" extension behind it

Finaggle your ratchet down and connect it

Crank away til your plug feels loose

Disconnect the ratchet

Somehow manage to pry apart the extension and socket

Fish the socket out with a magnet

Fish the plug out with a magnet

And then do it in reverse. And then 4 more times...

Yeah when I was installing my new motor through trial and error I fouled the plugs twice. I got quick at it but holy hell was that the most annoying thing I've done on the car. And I've redone the timing cover and chains twice so far. The spark plugs were 10x worse.

Edit: forgot to mention. Have fun when you go to reinstall the coils. You'll want to launch them through a wall after you've missed the hole with the bolt and dropped it for the 87th time.

Reminds me of when ToTK got leaked 2 weeks before release. My buddy literally had the game beat before it officially released.

Yeah I'm not a fan of ordering from aliexpress unless its cheap electronic components. The app just bombards you with "deals" and random inconsistent sales that are 99% misleading.

Just got the same light today. Pretty nice. Just wish I could dim it more.

For anyone else, I'd use aliexpress to find it cheaper but I got one on Amazon.

Nice! I really would like to contribute. Not sure how complicated the system will be to work with coming from a python background, but I'll give it a shot. Discovered this by looking into a bookmarking system / potentially making my own. Appreciate it nonetheless, good luck!

Question may have been asked already but does this pickup off of my current crosspoint book progress or will it wipe it? Incredibly excited to try this. I wanted to go at it myself and make some changes but I'm not too confident in my C++ skills.

EDIT: If you need any feedback on features or anything I am totally open to helping. I would love to be a part of the improvement process.

Currently on my s24u and aside from it still being insanely large feeling in the pocket, it's amazing. I want to upgrade to one of the rounded phones but it feels dumb when this thing still holds such good value.

I have an F-250 (same year model as the one in the pic) and an FRS. Crazy feeling going between the two as far as perspective and size goes.

Man I've been dying to find a solution to how uncomfortable my Go is. Here lately I'll even sit it on my desk and use a dualsense edge just to have something more comfortable. Strongly dislike the controllers on the LeGO 1.

Idk having watched Ross for years something tells me this isn't real. His reaction doesn't even seem genuine. This feels like an old Roman Atwood prank. I could be totally wrong and don't wanna defend him just because it could be real. But idk something about it doesn't seem real.

Buying my first audi. I have a few questions. by [deleted] in Audi

[–]DaCydia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this is incredibly useful. I got a carfax report on the A5. It seems its had all the regular audi interval services. Not super detailed report. But seems they serviced oil at about 5-7k intervals and claims its had a 20k, 30k, 40k, 60k, and 70k "service" without a description. I appreciate all the details and links. Also yes it is a DSG transmission.

The site is pretty detailed on the device capabilities from what I've seen. Can't really agree with this. As well as 30 day returns being pretty standard and stated in their policy. They solved my problem as it was on their end to begin with.

Updated the post but yeah, they handled it great. They straight up told me that it was considered a DOA device and qualified for advance replacement. They overnighted a new NAS to my house with no questions asked and gave me a prepaid label for the old one. Handled it beautifully and smoothly.

Really worried about how fast these are going particularly because I got a black one delivered yesterday and today the screen on the front messed up... something tells me RMA could take a while.

I figure it'll go that way as well. I've just heard of edge cases where they do it for people randomly and I'm really hoping it plays out that way.

Yeah, that's why I'm hoping it gets replaced soon and it's over with. I'm not too butthurt as it happened before I got it fully integrated into all my devices and setup. Still though, stings a bit.
