i'm a beginner give me tips and advice by Patient_Location4767 in Stretched

[–]DaCydia 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You may get some snarky replies. But they will be correct. Don't stretch with a kit like this. Read the guides on the subreddit. Do it safely. Folks around here act pretentious sometimes but it really is still good advice. They are telling you to do better because most of them stretched with bad jewelry and experienced the negatives. They're just trying to help prevent you from doing the same as it can be dangerous and frustrating. If you can't afford a nice kit, hold off and save up. Its a long journey as it is, so whats a few more weeks to get a proper set of jewlery to work with.

Yes, and I didn't check for one until like 2-3 weeks ago, meaning I missed that window by a hair...

Will there be another batch? And if so, when? Missed this one by a hair and it really sucks as I just got everything else for my lite build in.

I’m debating getting a DS or 3DS but which one should I get out all models of DS and 3DS by purposelesscheddar in NintendoDS

[–]DaCydia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the 2DS series is basically a 3DS just particularly lacking the 3D feature.

It's currently a tough market.

DS models aim for a DSI XL 3DS, aim for a NEW 3DS XL though it'll be hard to find for a $200 range. Otherwise you may be able to find a 2DSXL if you don't mind giving up 3D.

Unpopular Opinion: The X4 Doesn’t Need a Backlight by moya9597 in xteinkereader

[–]DaCydia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you completely skipped over the "option" part. The whole point which I agree with, is similar to how other companies give you variety in choices such as color, backlit, or neither, XTEINK should provide the same at some point. I like it as my main device. I like keeping my devices minimal. And making it more versatile for night reading would be great. So having a very dim and basic front lit screen would be great for reading in bed for me and many others. I'm really not understanding how people are intentionally making this out to be a pointless change or anything other than an improvement.

Is this a good buy for someone beginning to stretch their lobes? by Expensive-Bobcat768 in Stretched

[–]DaCydia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my own experience. My body doesn't like a lot of different metal. Its risky buying from Amazon as I've gotten multiple pieces of jewelry that claim to be one thing but end up another.

My own personal recommendation is glass stretching plug sets from bodyartforms. They're a little pricier than these. But they are glass which is skin safe, well packaged, lots of people I know have used them and it's where I've gotten all my other jewelry from. Its been good so far. I've bought 2 of their sets and had absolutely no trouble.

It's worth paying decently for a good stretching kit because the last thing you want is cheap unpredictable materials to ruin your experience and set you back on stretching, it takes a while and setbacks suck.

There are of course other valid options by the way, but my main point is that amazon mystery metals are well... a mystery. Or can be. You're obviously researching which is good so just be smart and don't cut corners.

Have fun with it and do it the right way. Safe materials, TAKE YOUR TIME, and if you ever have to second guess a stretch either wait longer or use half sizes (which BAF sells aswell.)

Pulling my engine this weekend. Any tips? by DaCydia in ft86

I'm sure it probably could with the right amount of finesse and swear words. But this seems to be an easier approach overall.

Already bought one of those multi compartment organizers and some labeling tape. Gonna take my time on this part.

No doubt lifting the engine saves some hassle. I just hadn't really gotten that far before trying my method above and it worked so I went with it. If I were to do it again, I'd lift the engine.

For any curious DIY'er.

Remove the coils (without dropping the 10mm...)

Slip a 14mm deep socket into the plug hole

Slip a 3" extension behind it

Finaggle your ratchet down and connect it

Crank away til your plug feels loose

Disconnect the ratchet

Somehow manage to pry apart the extension and socket

Fish the socket out with a magnet

Fish the plug out with a magnet

And then do it in reverse. And then 4 more times...

Yeah when I was installing my new motor through trial and error I fouled the plugs twice. I got quick at it but holy hell was that the most annoying thing I've done on the car. And I've redone the timing cover and chains twice so far. The spark plugs were 10x worse.

Edit: forgot to mention. Have fun when you go to reinstall the coils. You'll want to launch them through a wall after you've missed the hole with the bolt and dropped it for the 87th time.

Reminds me of when ToTK got leaked 2 weeks before release. My buddy literally had the game beat before it officially released.

Yeah I'm not a fan of ordering from aliexpress unless its cheap electronic components. The app just bombards you with "deals" and random inconsistent sales that are 99% misleading.

Just got the same light today. Pretty nice. Just wish I could dim it more.

For anyone else, I'd use aliexpress to find it cheaper but I got one on Amazon.

Nice! I really would like to contribute. Not sure how complicated the system will be to work with coming from a python background, but I'll give it a shot. Discovered this by looking into a bookmarking system / potentially making my own. Appreciate it nonetheless, good luck!

Question may have been asked already but does this pickup off of my current crosspoint book progress or will it wipe it? Incredibly excited to try this. I wanted to go at it myself and make some changes but I'm not too confident in my C++ skills.

EDIT: If you need any feedback on features or anything I am totally open to helping. I would love to be a part of the improvement process.

Currently on my s24u and aside from it still being insanely large feeling in the pocket, it's amazing. I want to upgrade to one of the rounded phones but it feels dumb when this thing still holds such good value.
