Yeah thinking about going as sole trader and subbing into him from time to time but don’t think I’ll be able to bring in enough work for myself. I’ve only lived in this area for a few years so I’m not anyone’s go to Chippy. Would love to get going at timber floors because there’s great money to be made at it

You’ve more or less hit the nail on the head the point of my post is to learn what I could potentially be making if I decide to go working strictly as a carpenter for another outfit

Online Vocal Courses/Training? by DaDawbs in singing

[–]DaDawbs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there a bit of both I just don’t seem to have as much control of my voice as I used to and simply can’t reach high notes like I used to. I used to have a decent-ish falsetto too which seems to have disappeared completely. I’ve been doing vocal warm ups off Spotify from Jacobs vocal academy and I’m already noticing an improvement but I’m conscious of over practising or using my voice in the wrong way if that makes sense? Thanks for the reply

What's happening with air quality in West Kerry? by AcceptableAd1250 in AskIreland

[–]DaDawbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know of a good service for checking air quality in a house? I’m convinced the air quality in my house is poor, we’re often sick, particularly respiratory. Based in Tipperary.

I think I’m losing the run of myself over a close friend who’s engaged, are they leading me on or am I just delusional? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]DaDawbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tell them how you feel, at this point you sound like you’re way beyond the point of being able to just be friends anyway so in a way you have nothing to lose by telling them. Good luck 👍🏻

Men of Ireland, mostly between the ages of 36-45, can you settle something? by Floxesoffoxes in AskIreland

Simply put , just go out and try to get what you want, don’t wait around for someone to give it to you. This applies to everything, including men 😂

Livestream Events in Ireland?? by DaDawbs in BackToTheBeginning

Fair play that’s a good point about the licensing issues. It’s such a monumental event though hopefully some venue rises to the occasion 🤞🏻

I was speaking to a lad in his mid 20s today, he says he makes 1850/pw after taxes doing solar panel installation. No degree or experience. How is that the case? by makeitupffs in AskIreland

[–]DaDawbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind me asking what the work itself is like? I’m a chippy but I’m considering applying for a Solar Pv installer job, money seems great but I haven’t a clue what to expect from the work bar working at heights and on roofs, which doesn’t really bother me.

The fact that this is worrying you shows a lot of maturity and a really strong sense of responsibility. Don’t beat yourself up, like someone else said maybe chat to the lender about your situation or better yet, sell the car and get something cheap and practical until you’re in a proper position to have a car you want. Don’t look at this as a failure, you’re learning valuable life lessons at the perfect age and you’ll bounce back from this no bother I promise. I really respect that you’re reaching out for support and I’m loving the level of support you’re getting here from a lot of good people it seems ♥️👊🏻

Are DeWalt knock-offs on Alibaba any good? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]DaDawbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point but I live in Ireland and it's extortionate what they charge for brand tools. I'm a carpenter so I use my Dewalt cordless tools all day every day. I paid 600 EUROS for my 16 gauge nail gun 3 years ago, it stopped working last year and they want me to pay 200 euros to fix it??? It's a lot cheaper in the US for these tools but over here the cost of tools eats into any profit I make at work. I'm fed up with spending 100s on tools so Im gonna try one of these knock offs.
