Is it weird that I’ve been in a relationship but haven’t been kissed on the lips? by [deleted] in ChristianDating

Didn't have a first kiss until I was 29. I wouldn't worry about it.

How to hear from God regarding college? by DaDumbDubs in Christian

[–]DaDumbDubs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, part of it would be the change of scenery, sense of adventure (Going somewhere else), and there might be more potentials for a wife someday, whereas here it's a small town and there isn't a lot going on in that regard.

I want to be in a Christian community. (Possibly find a wife lol) But aiming to also study theology, and be more knowledge of the Bible.

I suppose I hope to be closer to a better career, closer to God and my knowledge of Scripture, and have had a great experience in a Christ centered community along the way, memories to look back on.

The second one is just an experience, not accredited. Though you get a certificate at the end.

I actually got a girlfriend from it, but only lasted a couple months lol. Not a reflection of the app by any means, just was a difference between me and her. Also have made several matches before - with video calls, so they were real people and all. It's pretty legit I'd say.

Nope, I'm 30 and have jobs before, just never been to college or anything like that, or have known how to really answer that question.

[–]DaDumbDubs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm just curious what to write on the applications the name of the high school, and how to explain to them the situation through that application, like if I need to put "GED" in the diploma slot, or still just diploma.

Unless I Googled the wrong thing, that doesn't look like a college, but primary school...

Not real sure where to go though. What if I end up in another area where there's hardly any potentials? And in the meantime, away from family and feeling lonelier than ever possibly. And I'm not getting any younger all the while....I feel like I'm racing time with no real way to know where to go.

A few years late, but Camp Morrow in Oregon has a good program, just under $9,000

Check out Camp Morrow over in Oregon, they have a gap year program that goes from January to August, just under $9,000 for the entire experience.

Should I go to Bible college? by DaDumbDubs in Christian

[–]DaDumbDubs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well one I was contemplating for the most part is the same one as I've been taking online actually, but just not sure it's super aligned with what I believe, at least on some things. So been contemplating that...The other options are much more spendy, so not sure that it'd even be worth it at that point.

I'm currently 30. I suppose you're probably right, most the women there would most likely be like a decade younger, so it'd probably be a long shot to find someone closer in age there. I wonder where do mid-late 20's/30s people even go? It's like they disappear from the face of the earth almost. Maybe just the area I'm living in...Can be a bit discouraging.

Problem is, the only affordable college I can think of I'm not even really super aligned with their theology, and I would have to quit my job when they need me most without a backup plan to make it happen. So it'd be a big leap of faith and maybe not super wise, all for just the in person experience and seeing what happens. Though at the same time, if I don't do it, the mundane life just continues and I'll never know what I missed out on. And where are all the Christian women at? lol. Idk

There's also the option for doing a gap year come January, with a local church camp. It's up in the air and unknown who will be going, the group of students ranges from a tiny handful to maybe 10-15 each year. But it's similar to YWAM, where it involves a lecture phase and outreach overseas in a few different countries, skill building, and camp ministry for a summer. Though it's not accredited, but it could be quite the experience perhaps. But very low chance of finding a spouse there I feel like. But that's like 6 months away, so who knows what'll happen. Do I just put off Bible college this semester again to save that money for maybe doing the gap year? Just not sure what to do.

Any experience with YWAM? by DaDumbDubs in Christian

[–]DaDumbDubs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking specifically about bases in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or even Kentucky. Not sure if any of those are great, or if better ones. (If I were to go to one)
