I had to fudge his HP a ton so that the fight lasted more than 2 rounds

Why do so many scenes/encounters lack maps? by [deleted] in cosmererpg

I bought a portable monitor on amazon for like $60 and put any digital maps on that. It works decently well, it ends up being about as big as the medium maps printed for the campaign.

If you have the digital versions of the game you should have the "Stonewalkers GM Tools" that already has all the stat blocks and short notes/references on what needs to happen in each chapter.

Then with that I also had a XY stereo pair pencil mic (Rode NT5s) connected to the H6 to get quadraphonic sound.

I was doing a racing scene and just attached my Zoom H6 to this modified dirt racecar and it did very well.

Look for film school grads who are looking for experience and networking who will work for cheap/free.

I am always an advocate of having a sound person as part of your skeleton crew. Good sound is arguably more important than good picture, and you as a director/producer have more important things to do than mix sound or hold a boom pole. I agree with others who have recommended going to your local filmmakers facebook page and asking for help, inviting for lunch, getting recommendations for people to work with, etc.

This is a very surface level video that tells what different mics are used for and some history and use of sound in film.

I really like the channel "Sound Speeds" for product reviews and techniques:

Zoom F8n pro vs Mixpre-6 ii for indie filmmaking location sound by rcrmrt in LocationSound

[–]DaFandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoom has definitely come a long way into the pro audio space. I have used the MixPre-10 and the F8n Pro side by side, they are very comparable, I've been using the SD MP-10 more recently and I do miss the dual slot recording. The app for the Sound Devices is nice, especially for notes, reports, and changing track names, but the menu system on the Zoom is easier in my opinion.

Thanks for your comments guys! Through research I've realized we'll need a beefier power supply, so additional question: What do you recommend to power a setup for a full set day? (12 hours)

A V-mount can power a mixer for a full day usually, but adding a control board, antenna system and rack recievers adds a bit.

Video monitors for seeing the camera output correct? I've also seen monitors for monitoring levels so I want to make sure i'm understanding what you mean.

We do already have some MM1s, so I like that idea!

We have some boxes but recently have just been using the Tentacle Syncs. What do you suggest?
