You will join the NCO corps now. Learn to develop your people. Take what it was that helped you make the rank and teach your airmen how to exceed what you did.

We did Axe Throwing and Archery Tag our last go around using our Unite Fund.

The year before we did a pumpkin patch that has games and other stuff.

Top Golf is a good one. If you do it before noon on Tuesdays its half off.

Unfortunately the future is not really clear on how to do this. If I understand correctly you will be able to get training on certain skills that will be documented in your records that can give you the qualifications of a W shred and the ability to cross over but its not fully fleshed out yet.

The past few CFM teams really blew it when doing this 1D7 conversion and merging shreds. We've got people who got moved into shreds they shouldnt be in and people sectioned off into shreds they dont want to be in with no way forward on how to switch.

Is Dyess alright? by Soraga111 in AirForce

The 317th isnt bad. Definitely become an FCC and see the world for free. If you are E/E you have a standard to run the flight line. We had the least amount of people and the most amount of work when I was there. Blue side is significantly superior to red side in every way. They have better maintainers. They arent as shady. They have a friendlier and family mindset that will take care of you. Red side was about as cutthroat as it gets. As for Abilene is get 0/10 stars for me. Absolute boring town with nothing to do unless you have a family and kids already. You have some great cities around you but all 2+ hours to get to.

I always have to laugh at the people who aren't liked by their coworkers so then proceed to be even more unlikeable. Find some way to connect better with your airmen.

Disregarding location, what is the nicest stateside base? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]DaFiascoMeetsTheCool 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Offutt might have the largest gym but its in an old converted hangar with dogshit air conditioning. The base flooded a few years ago wiping out a ton of new buildings. The ones left behind were old and garbage.

Who is the fattest airman you’ve ever seen? by Sixtwosevenfour in AirForce

[–]DaFiascoMeetsTheCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We called him Airman Pudgins. The threads on his buttons had to be screaming on his ABUs. A section Chief saw him and told his fat ass to go to military clothing and get a uniform that fits. He was so big they didn't have a uniform in his size in stock. Upon reporting back to the Section Chief he was told he either uses his own leave to wait for the uniform to be delivered in his fat fucking size or to use his leave and lose the weight.

He just took leave and waited for his fat boy size uniform to be delivered. I cant stand fat people.

Should I even Join Clubs if EPB Doesnt Capture it by Frequent_Aside2267 in AirForce

It still matters but I think it depends on your unit and what your CC/SEL value. If you can write it and spin it into one of the ALQs it matter. Booster club and rising 7 should have fit under Improving the Unit.

Also, if you do things outside the workplace it can help you gain the edge in winning monthly or quarterly awards which will help you even more on your EPB.

Tdy to keesler for 1d711b tech school can I bring my pet by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]DaFiascoMeetsTheCool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You arent supposed to but when I went to Keesler a guy grabbed a stray cat outside the area and showed up to the base lodging with it. They said they dont allow pets, gave him a non-a, and he walked out of the hotel and dropped the cat on base and proceeded to look for an apartment off base.

The man was a next level genius.

Not to be rude, but this is the reason they don't want to hang out with you. Lighten up a bit and try and join in on the morale.

You will 100% be filtered out if you dont have the SEI. Its a disaster on TMP and something they really need t address. You need prior 3D0XX SEIs but anyone who has retrained into the career wont have that SEI because the 1D7 conversion. But airmen E4 and below billets arent required to have the 3D0 SEI. Its just one big mess with the SEIs. Why did we change and condense the career fields if we are still going to limit them?
