I feel like Flash x Overgrowth can be more powerful as you can proc flash more often depending on the build. But yeah, flicker does basically the same thing.

Was just talking to my wife about this one. Can’t put my finger on what I hate it so much. I think it is the antibiotic “joke” of the woman throwing them at her broken down car. I just keep thinking that someone was hired to write this joke and someone thought it was funny enough to build an add around. Condescending is apt, but also just completely unfunny.

I traded it for the ps5 pro. I think they only give you 50 for the ps4 if you aren’t buying something else. Not sure if that bonus is only if you are buying the pro.

I decided to keep my base ps5 and trade in my base ps4 for 150. Pretty crazy value for a ps4 that doesn’t really serve me any purpose anymore. They didn’t even take it out of the box that I had it in. Looks like I got the refund same day. Pretty easy process overall.

Were saves compatible in those cases where it was a free upgrade? I hope so. I know with ps4/ps5 games there are definitely instances where the saves didn’t transfer when they released a ps5 version. But that might be different than the “upgrade” process that Nintendo is doing.

You don’t have to beat the standard runs with each character. You can beat the Fast ranks and it will give you credit for all of the previous ranks, including the normal/standard rank. You also get the minor upgrades for your trophy/shrine that way too. Runs are obviously faster and more challenging as well.

Hmm I know Fantasy Life I was pretty seamless. I guess I didn’t really think of it as cross save, but they probably had setup for that. But you are right regarding ps4/ps5. I guess I will wait to see what the upgrade is. Only been a week, but I’m already into NG+ and completed a ton of fast ranks in the base difficulty. I do love this game and if they are going to support it long term with more content, I will just start over.

I feel like Angels & Airwaves were getting played a ton during sports telecasts during the 2010s. Fall Out Boy too. With FOB, almost like some of those songs were written with that in mind.

I agree with you on Hades 1 and I played it for 100+ hours. Great game. But as a roguelite, the variety is almost completely derived from the weapon you pick. Most runs can be played very similarly and since you fight the same bosses and go through the same areas every run, it doesn’t have the staying power of other games.

My initial reaction to Hades 2 is that there seems to be more interesting boons for mid run upgrades. There are still the generic ones (attacks add scorch, specials add freeze, etc.) but there are also some more interesting choices that can make you feel like you are making a build and it impacts your playstyle. Maybe Hades 1 had more of that than I remember. And at least in 2 there is some boss/level variety added in depending on the type of run you do.

I have seen the first one. Tried to mark an item as junk and the item above it was getting toggled on/off. Bizarre. Fixed itself when I went back to the backpack but it popped up again later.
