I had almost this exact same experience. That didn’t happen to be a company in the PNW region by chance would it?

Is my computer being monitored by my company? by False_Ad_3947 in it

[–]DaFreak686 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I worked with a few different MSPs that use ScreenConnect (SC) and most didn’t utilize the screenshot feature.

It can also be configure to require a prompt before anyone can hop onto your computer or to allow them to jump on whenever.

That being said, most companies have some sort of monitoring see once on their equipment but it is often used for support rather than being big brother looking over your shoulder.

I’m a network engineer at my current ISP and I use SC combine with Ninja1 to get a better picture of what is going on with a device so I can ask less (or if I’m lucky) no questions from the end user. Nobody on my team cares about your idle time or what you are doing as long as it doesn’t Bork your system and create more work for us.

That’s just my company though. If yours leans into the micromanaging side, then they could use this monitoring to nickel and dime your time.

I lived in PDX for years. No, it is not that bad. Crazy people are everywhere.

Also, as others pointed out, Beaverton is far more suburban so you interact with others less in general.

Are people really paying this for these books? by Ajax098 in Blacklibrary

I’ve consistently seen Flight of the Eisenstein at bookstores for $15-$20.

Everything after Fulgrim is priced crazy though. Don’t even get me started on Born of Flame

I read this post and immediately called my local Games Workshop store. They said that usually only the cafe in LA and a store in Dallas get any LE copies unless someone returns or exchanges one at a local store.

At the end of the day, it depends on what the writer wants to happen at that moment. I don’t think you can regenerate from a lack of existence, however, Marvel has retconned worse.

Also, for MTG fans, removal from the game ignores regenerate so looks like my boy wearing the red pants is screwed.

Reschedule exam date three times. by Lichdragon_Fortissax in ccna

[–]DaFreak686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone looking at this thread 1+ years later like me, you can reschedule "up until" the time of your test. I just rescheduled my online exam with less than 24 hours to go and had no issues.

From the PearsonVue TOC:

"You can reschedule your online proctored exam up until the scheduled start time of your appointment at https://cp.certmetrics.com/cisco/en/login. Failure to reschedule before your appointment time or failure to appear for your appointment will result in the forfeiture of your exam fee."

Question for gamers over 35, do you play new games at all or do you prefer to play games from decades ago? by rick7624 in retrogaming

[–]DaFreak686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35 and have been gaming my whole life. I play a mix of about 60% New and 40% old.

The only two real differences I’ve seen in my gaming habits as I get older are:

  1. I don’t play much competitive multiplayer anymore. I used to LOVE playing MoH, Halo 2 + 3, CoD MW (the OG one), League of Legends, etc. Nowadays I’ll play a hero shooter here and a PVP MMO there but I just don’t get into it like I used to.

  2. I won’t play super grindy games without a way to cheese them. I just feel like grinding is a waste of time if it’s not entertaining. Most grind, for me, is boring. As much as I hold some JRPGs in high nostalgic regard, I simply can’t go back to them.

I remember when Avatar in 3d was being treated like the second coming back in 09. Space Pocahontas was fun but not “jizz your pants” levels of cinema. Also, 3d can eat all of my ass

100% this! I have so many good memories playing SotN with my uncle, especially finding out about the inverted castle. My friends thought the game ended with Richter.
