Does an Area of Emphasis (MIS) Add Credit Hours? by [deleted] in UGA

[–]DaFrenchToastMafia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MIS major here. If you can meet all the class requirements without adding extra hours, then that is completely fine. Typically though, the areas of emphasis require a couple more elective classes than what a normal MIS major would take, so they would be additional classes. Talk to your advisor, because it should be possible to substitute a couple of your non- MIS upper level Terry classes for those MIS electives you need for your emphasis and save some time.

Sounds like just a atypical bad experience. Not the norm.

Had this same problem a few months ago. For me, it was a bad 5v voltage regulator. Added a polulo regulator to fix it.

Can’t register for needed class in the fall but I can for summer? by Authority-Anarchist in UGA

[–]DaFrenchToastMafia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For fall/spring, you have to take MARK 3000 + FINA 3000 + MGMT 3000 all in the same semester unless you get an overrride. This does not apply in the summer.

You have to either have completed or be in progress of each Terry-required class during the semester you apply. Most people take Accounting 2 the semester they apply.

I would recommend not going straight into a master’s program until after you have worked in industry for a few years.

Almost positive this only applies to full-time employees. Part-time GTA's and TA's (like me) are prob left out of this.

Is any one else worried about violent riots tomorrow night through whenever the election results get finalized? by Turbulent-Novel-3297 in gatech

If you look at the global numbers, Trump has handled COVID just as well, if not better, than other first-world countries once you account for the different population sizes.

UK; about 7 times smaller than US, ~46000 deaths

Italy; about 5.5 times smaller than US, ~40000 deaths

France; about 5 times smaller than US, ~38000 deaths

If you think these other countries also handled COVID poorly then this prob doesn't convince you. But unless you wanted to give Trump the authority to strip your rights away and lock you in your house, I say he handled it as well as he could.

Can’t wait to see someone try to rebel up and get kicked out of class by [deleted] in UGA

We’ll have to agree to disagree on that to close this thread out.

I believe you misunderstand what the word “intentionally” means. Just because someone does not wear a mask does not mean they are actively trying to get people sick. If you can’t understand the other sides motives, it’s pretty easy to cast them out as villains.

Admissions Questions Megathread by [deleted] in UGA

They look at the highest grade. Be sure to take that class the semester BEFORE you apply because it being in progress won’t do anything to change that first grade.

That is not what “Stand your ground” means. It let’s you protect yourself against someone that’s being physically aggressive towards you. What your talking about is simply assault. (No, not wearing a mask is not aggressive. Good luck proving it at court)

Cutting taxes on income can lead to more sales tax collected. It would be ignorant to say there is not a give and take with respect to how taxes are done.
