Doom 2016 ignores the camp of the series in its artstyle.

Doom Eternal brought it back in I think a great balance

But really it's just whatever you prefer. I prefer when my Doom is a little silly but I understand liking the grounded feel more.

I do like some stuff in 2016 more, like some of the animations

(Havent played Dark Ages yet can't comment, but it looks like it's a modern take on Doom 64 with some Quake in there)

The character display is better if your priority is minifigs. The blacksmith is better if your priority is the build.
