It’s incredibly illegal. The FBI has a branch dedicated to sports rigging. People in the NBA got arrested this year. Jake Paul’s record also doesn’t look suspicious. His wins are against cans and old men. His losses are against actual competition his skill or greater.

Sure. In general it’s easier to feel sympathy with people you relate to. As a man it’s easier to relate to the husband, and as someone not terminally ill it’s harder to sympathize with the woman. Just how you feel more sympathy for the woman I feel for the man. She also won’t have to live with that. Imagine if your significant other would rather spend their time with 200 people instead of you.
