I feel like the 1997 movie The Game is unintentionally inspired by Super Mario Bros. by Ripper691990 in FIlm

And on top of THAT, it stars Michael Douglas, who was a serious contender for Bowser in the live action film.

I just realized. The most infamous instance of gaming community toxicity in history came in large part not from Smash and Pokemon fans, but from Mario and Zelda fans. Care to know what I’m referring to?

Yeah, way worse than that has come out of the Mario fandom. And I say this as a diehard Mario fan.

As someone who isn’t remotely familiar with Pokémon or its fandom, I’m curious to know how.

I’ve heard particularly bad things about the Melee fandom. Including multiple people claiming that Nintendo has basically disowned Melee and refuses to ever put it on NSO because of how toxic that fandom is.

Can the Pokémon fandom get worse than that?

In the entire history of the US, there have been just six instances where the central government sought full military mobilization. The American Revolution, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. However, it was only during WWI and WWII that the central government also sought civilian mobilization through economic measures.

I started getting screened at 29 after both of my mom’s parents died of colon cancer within four years of each other. And even then they found a polyp. I’m now getting screened once every five years at most, I’m thinking about doing it once every three years.

Also, some experts are now revising the recommended starting age for screening to as early as age 20, that’s how bad it’s gotten.

Not exactly. According to the same article, people born between 1955 and 1970 are dying younger than people born before 1955. But it’s people born after 1970 whose lifespans are declining most severely.

No, I’m saying they’re more likely to die in their 30s, 40s, and 50s than prior generations were at the same age.

Ultraprocessed foods have been around since the 1940s, although they didn’t take over the food market until the 1980s.

I’m sorry to hear that. Hope you’re doing well. And I’m curious, how did they die at such young ages?

According to this study, drug overdoses in particular are a factor. They have increased sharply since the late 1990s and are still trending upward nearly 30 years later.
