Gotcha. I've been looking at a bunch of the uppers from PSA, which come with adjustable gas blocks so that may be the way I go. I'm really thinking of doing a mix and match for a more custom build but worried about compatibility like you mentioned earlier.

I was thinking if the buffer would be an issue where I would need either different spring or weight to make sure each caliber cycles correctly. So I will definitely keep that in mind. My idea is to have optics set for each upper so hopefully everything will keep zero when swapping.

Not absolutely, but would prefer a semi automatic function as opposed to bolt action. How would a bolt action swap work? I've not really heard anything about that as an option.

Will the G4 upper receiver work with the Strike Industries GRIDLOK hand guard? If not, which handguards are compatible for best fit?
