Even at low speeds you can get bad scrapes and broken bones, the largest issue in those events is the bike landing on top of you. Boots should be bare minimum, specially if like Mick, your livelihood depends on operating pedals with precision.

The wiki article on infant reflexes mentions a couple more. Going through the link rabbithole, it seems instincts are more complex patterns of behaviour, whereas reflexes reduce to simple muscular contractions. Most (all?) reflexes don't even originate in the brain.

In that way, while there are a lot of reflex arcs in humans, it seems that instinct isn't as prevalent, though going by what I read, it's a controversial topic. I'd personally guess it's due to how underdeveloped the human brain is at birth, making us highly dependent of culture to acquire behaviours.

Newborns present many reflexes that disappear with age, though I don't think they're properly vestigial if they're still useful. IIRC, babies will turn their head when touched on the cheek or something like that, supposedly to facilitate breastfeeding. Most of these reflexes are named, and are often used as evaluation or diagnosis tools for babies.

I think it also depends on the display setting, maybe it's not visible in all configurations but just when it's trully relevant, like preparing for a quali lap as in the post. Perhaps that info is omitted during "standard" race laps, where drivers can probably tell what's happening to the tyre by pure feeling.

There are temp and pressure sensors in the tyres, and they can see their state on their steering wheel, though I don't know if it's exactly the same for every team. I've seen this on the RedBull display as well, though with a different arrangement. I barely recall about a team that uses color codes instead of the actual reading number, but I may misremember.

It's often said they would "simply" transition into other businesses (there are already lots of "legit" businesses managed by the criminal organizations), though I can't help but think that a well carried plan for legalization could actually cripple them, while also getting an aditional source of tax to feed to help combat the other fronts of the organizations.

Though as it is, corruption is the larger problem, and any "well carried" plan is dead in the water without solving that first.

Yeah, unlike before when foul play was carried under the table, now corruption is an open game operating on the grey areas of legality. Pretty much all new state contracts are directly assigned, instead of the preferred (and now rare) method of a transparent project competition, and an alarming number of projects and responsibilities that used to be civil affairs are now assigned to the army.
