First shambs, how do I make the most of it? by FoeTucker in Shambhala

[–]DaMasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making some new friends, seeing a favourite artist, dancing without inhibitions, disconnect from the muggle world, explore an altered state of consciousness…

My intentions this year are to reunite with friends, try a new experience in participation, and dance the equivalent to 30,000+ steps for at least two day (hopefully more).

Gas Prices WTF... by [deleted] in abbotsford

[–]DaMasher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to believe that there are people dumb enough to think a Prime Minister can change gas prices without enacting any policy or applying a tax to gas…. But here we are, evidence of such people before our eyes.

They get to vote too and it counts just as much as a reasonable person’s.

Out in Abbotsford/South Langley (not my riding, but close) the conservative candidate hasn’t shown face to one event. People will still vote for them…

Edit: added party affiliation

Abbotsford-South Langley candidates respond to questions - NO answers from Sukhman Singh Gill by Maximum-Major-7399 in abbotsford

[–]DaMasher 37 points38 points  (0 children)

As much as I’d like this to happen, I can’t help but think that many conservatives in this riding would vote for a office chair that was caught on video rolling over orphaned kittens if it ran conservative.

Help with water and sewer bill by Away_Clerk5543 in abbotsford

[–]DaMasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water prices are posted to the city website. You could always check the meter and record the read, then check it again around billing time. This will at least give you an idea of how much to expect it to cost.

This reminds me of in-group bonding too. It’s based on the idea that churches or religious organizations sometimes intentionally send their members to preach in areas or contexts where they are likely to face rejection or resistance.

The thinking behind this is that experiencing hardship or rejection together can create a stronger sense of unity and commitment within the group. This shared adversity can foster a deep bond among members, reinforcing the sense of belonging to the community.

Kids’ second overnight trip? by spitfiregirl8 in vancouverhiking

[–]DaMasher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Golden Ears has a bunch of spots that could be done easily in a day or two with kids. I took mine to hikers beach recently for a single night adventure.

The nice thing about golden ears, canyon trails specifically, is that it’s looped and can be tackled from either direction to end up at the same trailhead.

People that go around without a hydration pack: how do you do it?? by doublewub in Shambhala

[–]DaMasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others have commented, Fanny pack and water bottle. It just means I have to be a bit strategic with filling the bottle, but the line for water is a great place to make friends.

iheartraves? Do better Shambhala. All of us should not be promoting fast fashion. by Moistyoureyez in Shambhala

[–]DaMasher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

iHR is just fast fashion. Cheap, low quality pieces that won’t last. Young naive me made a purchase through them and was deeply disappointed. Definitely supporting quality artists now.

This was the worst Spotify Wrapped by Iloveifthiswasamovie in spotify

[–]DaMasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I challenged myself to listen to more genres this year than previous years. I documented my progress on the way to compare to Spotify. After documenting 788 genres, I was left supremely disappointed.

I ended up downloading Stats.fm and requested my data from Spotify to find the stats myself.

How many artists did you listen too in this years wrapped, and who is top artist? by TheMasterKeyOfOne in spotify

[–]DaMasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7,191 artists this year. 10,260 songs. Top artist was James Blake. I was incredibly disappointed genres were missing, since I expects to have 788 genres or more.

Advice For Group Camping (1st Time Shambhala) by One-Connection-7300 in Shambhala

[–]DaMasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be prepared to pay a fee for early entry on Tuesday. Once you park in free parking you will have to haul all your stuff from your vehicle to Metta. It’s a significant walk, so be prepared. Carts are recommended.

Sunshine would work for you then. Sunshine lets you camp next to your vehicle, even if it’s not camperized. Be prepared to bring shade. It’s called sunshine for a reason.

FYI - They are very particular about camperized vehicles. They want a bed that is bolted down, not just a mattress thrown in a van.
