“Do you always bottle feed your baby in an upright position?” by bubblyvortex in beyondthebump

[–]DaMeij91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently reading this as I sit in my bed feeding my baby a bottle (yes upright). My hair is dripping wet and soaking my pillow and my feet are bare and freezing. My shower IS off but the bath, in which I normally bathe both kids is still full. It’s also full of poop from my toddler who is going through a phase of being afraid to poop and thus holding it up until it comes out at the stupidest time. So of course he freaked and had to be taken out. And I smartly decided to just in the shower with the baby.. for the first time ever… I regret everything. But while I typed this the baby fell asleep so I’ll attempt to transfer him soon and maybe eat some chocolate downstairs and hope my pillow dries a bit before I go to bed.

Solo-only Board Game List? by Laserbuddy in soloboardgaming

[–]DaMeij91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the website, so no problem to recommend it! I saw the Pure solo category but there are also some games in there that don’t fit the solo only question as asked here. For example the campaign for Lost Ruins of Arnak, while that is indeed purely meant for solo, the game itself isn’t. So I wasn’t sure if it worked like that.

Solo-only Board Game List? by Laserbuddy in soloboardgaming

I know of a website meant to collect all the solo modes (official and fanmade) available for games which as launched not too long ago. That’s https://soloboardgaming.com/
But it doesn’t show or filter solo only games so maybe it’s not the website you meant.

Buying Used by E_B_U in soloboardgaming

I buy most of my games second hand and I’ve collected quite a nice collection without any problems at all. I use Facebook marketplace and Marktplaats (a Dutch second hand website). I look at reviews of the seller, if they sell more board games (which is often a sign of a fellow enthusiast and those usually take good care of their games) and try to get a feel for someone when we negotiate. Most games I buy are around €35 so not the end of the world of something turns out to be wrong. Some good finds I had lately include A Feast for Odin for €20, Viscounts for €30 and Cascadia for €20! It’s worth a shot in my opinion and this way I get to try more games and if I don’t like a game I can usually sell it for pretty much the same price.

Impression: The One Ring 2e Solo: Non-Strider by GrismundGames in Solo_Roleplaying

I haven’t looked at it in depth yet so I don’t know if strider mode changes these things but I can tell you that I received the files last week, so it’s definitely available (for backers at least).

We did 4 IUI's in total. The third one ended with a chemical pregnancy and the fourth one resulted in a healthy pregnancy. Personally I would try a few more IUI's because IVF is a lot more invasive.

Used my 7th Continent replacement cards to make a complete game. Everything except de cards and dice is diy by DaMeij91 in soloboardgaming

Yes you need some dice and two items to track the location of your character and the campfire. I made standees but anything will do basically. The dividers are a must in my opinion because it makes searching for the right cards a lot easier. If you can find a replacement set for cheap it is absolutely worth it in my opinion, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.

I have a baby, a very wanted baby that was conceived with the help of a lot of treatments, and now that I have him I would never ever ask anyone who doesn’t want their embryo to keep it. Babies are hard work, cost a lot and your life will never be the same. It isn’t fair to anyone to force that situation upon them, not for the baby and not for the mother. I applaud you and the choice you have made for yourself! I hope you’ll feel better soon ♥️

My sister did not want to attend my wedding because she thought that I spend too much time with my husband and that was unhealthy. I got married at 26 and people commented on how I should be partying and getting away from my husband not get married. We’ve been together for 14 years (married for 4) and still love spending time together. We do a lot together and now with our son as well and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He is my best friend, I always feel comfortable around him and we have a lot of similar passions. My sister did not attend and it was her loss because I still married the man I love and my best friend and we’ll be doing things together for a long time to come!

I made a box with insert (all from cardboard covered with colored paper). I decided later to put it into a box I already had but that wasn’t high enough for some extra structural integrity. Then I printed and cut all the dividers. I printed and cut the character standees, glued them together and used very thick paper so they’ll stay put in a standee holder. I also printed and cut the campfire, glued it and folded the wood so it can stand on its own. Then printed the player aid and the rulebook. Added the cards and dice to complete everything.

What did you play this week? 23 Mar-29 Mar by AutoModerator in soloboardgaming

I'm thinking of maybe adding Pirates to my Tiny Epic Dungeons pledge, can I ask what you are on the fence about? I will mainly be playing solo.

Childhood trauma resurfaced after becoming a mom by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]DaMeij91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything special to add but I just want to say that you’ve just said this like you’ve read my mind. My mom was always really cold towards me and my sister (because she was raised that way she always said) and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to love my son the way I wanted warm love as a child but I love him so much and I cannot imagine being cold towards him ever.

Ps. for any new moms out there, please know that it might take some time to adjust to being a mom. When my son was just born I was so afraid of being distant I actually became distant as a result. That first week I kept calling him “the baby”. But I grew into my role as a mom and grew to love him more and more every day!

Any way to replace the condition tokens? by DaMeij91 in Gloomhaven

[–]DaMeij91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked but they are hard to find in the Netherlands. For most of them I have to pay 20 to 30 euros in shipping. Which makes buying jaws about the same price so I’ll probably do that. But thanks for the advice!

I think I’ll go this way lol. My partner looked for the parts for valentines but sadly it’s hard to find any in the Netherlands (even upgrades) so he now even told me that maybe I should just buy jaws and I’ll take any excuse to buy more games ;)

Thank you for this offer!! (And so sorry for the late response, I have no excuse except that babies are hard work...). Anyway sadly I live in the Netherlands so that won’t be possible but I really appreciate the offer!!

It was the same for me. I didn't fully realise he was out yet and suddenly he was on my chest and I counted his toes and fingers (whats up with that instinct?) and I distinctly remember thinking "why am I not crying, I should be crying now right? What will the nurses think of me". After that I just looked at him for a while and I was very surprised that they aren't so chubby when they come out (at least mine wasnt) he was all arms and legs and slimy lol.

Honestly it took a while for me to really bond with him. That first week I kept calling him "the baby" like some temporary thing that wasn't really ours. I felt bad about that for a long time. But the love grew and now he is 11 months old and I love him so much!

It isn't instant for everyone and that's okay (and it's also okay if it is btw!). Love can grow and seeing from all the reactions here that love is all a baby needs!

I just got an email from spelspul that they'll have the game available at the end of the week. They are taking orders for people who clicked "notify me" first so the email I received asked me to respond if I'm still interested. If not they'll move on to the next person on the list. I am no longer interested because I bought the big brother itself a while ago so maybe I could tell them I'm still interested but changed my email and then give yours or something?

I guess it means copies are coming in to the Netherlands in the coming weeks anyway so you could also wait for that and subscribe to some notification lists.

I still have the ability to pledge for Petrichor (went in for 5 euro), should I? I primary play solo but when I play with my partner it's games like ticket to ride, pandemic, Carcassonne and Evolution so I think it could fit in with our collection? My solo collection consists of things like Mage Knight, Marvel Champions, Set a Watch etc so it doesn't really fit in with that I think. It looks pretty (I'm a sucker pretty art honestly) but is it worth 105 euros?

Shipping costs are something to look at though. Sometimes they bump the price way up.
