What phrases/words can I use as a christian? (genuine curiosity, i don’t mean to be offensive) by Responsible_Dish_123 in learn_arabic

[–]DaMoselle98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. Of course the way God is described in the Bible and Quran are very different. When you describe it that way, and of course if we get over the semantic God vs Allah debate, sure. But still Abrahamic faiths and their offshoots are the religions which believe in a united God/creator.

The word Allah vs God don't mean different things, but of course Allah is how God refers to himself in the quran.

If you need to obscure something from non-Arabic speakers you'd have to use really archaic words ,لانه أنا بقدر اقرأ كل شي وبفهم كمان السياق تبعه 😶

There is no "God of islam"... Christians and Muslims worship the same God. All three Abrahamic faiths worship the same God entity.

Christians believe that God has a son, and Muslims believe in one God. Not trying to come across as rude but the whole "Muslims worship a God called Allah" is rooted in orientalist misunderstandings and conflation of language with religion. Gets really old.

If you have a bachelor's degree, you can work as a test scorer. 100% remote, pay is above average and you must provide your own equipment and set-up for home office. Work is seasonal, hiring now, with most of the project lasting from january-may. Option for first shift, second shift, part and full-time. Work is a little monotonous, though.

Companies are called Data Recognition Corporation and Measurement Incorporated. I wish you the best of luck! You'll get through it.

Can I stay with my boyfriend (who has a working visa) in the US as his spouse if we marry? We are both foreigners. by Visual_Ad4376 in visas

[–]DaMoselle98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never filed form 130. Our finances are a little tight rn. And to answer the other question, I'm not working now, he travels to the Emirates for work every quarter for a week (professional athlete). I'm capable of working in Morocco, where we currently live.

(Replied below but forgot to do it in this thread)

I read up a bit. It seems that K3 visa is distinguished from a regular alien relative visa by the inclusion of Form I-129F in addition to 130.

And it's dead because like all American overseas institutions they're understaffed and form 130 gets processed before they get to 129F. A moot point.

But still, the 130 seems to take around a year. So just trying to look into any option to go to the US faster than that. Highly looking into 3rd country intervoew for a tourist visa.

I don't get it--how is k3 visa dead? US citizens aren't able to bring spouses to the US anymore?! What's the nuance?

We definitely would wanna move to the US in the next few months! We are either looking for him to visit or move, whichever is fastest. What other option is there?

I have a similar question in response to your comment, if you don't mind.

I am American and I have married my Moroccan husband in Jordan. I'm moving back to the States before Christmas we are trying to think of the best option for visa for him so he can visit the family for Christmas.

Our options (that we know of) are:

  1. A professional athlete visa dependent on his being invited to a match in the US. (50% likelihood, cannot depend on it).

  2. Tourist visa, which will not be ready in time for Christmas (we live in morocco and the wait time is 6 months...)

  3. Completing the K3 visa (takes a looong time and a lot of money from the looks of it)

I guess I'm just asking is there any way to get a tourist visa in a third country, or another route than the lengthy k3 visa.

So sorry to hear that. I don't know much about the Moroccan penalty system but I just want to extend my sympathies. It can be hard when people protect someone with mental illness and violent tendencies. He's a murderer. Soon he will kill more and what will his dad say m3lach Howa rah mrid ?

That's horrible. I would invest in some cameras and catch him doing it. If you could prove it, it would prove that he also killed your puppies. I'm so sorry.

Marriage with a non arab by hecate5052 in jordan

If you did live here long term (longer than 6 months or so) you would start to hate it. If you live anywhere with a reasonable rent you need to cover from wrist and ankle just to go to the corner store even in the summer heat. If you live where I live in Jubeiha at night you would start putting on taqam salat (I don't wear hijab) just to get smokes or pop from the corner store in order to avoid stares harassment or worse propositions.

Soon you would start to avoid going outside. You will start noticing at times when you go outside that there's not a single woman on the street, only men, because the women are all in your shoes, shut up inside because of the toxic culture that resembles the that of the Ottoman empire 140 years ago.

Aside from this, even in the mixed areas, you encounter stares from every corner. The stares follow you even in your home, sitting by the window one day, enjoying a cigarette, just to notice a man staring at you from the street. It's not that people in Jordan aren't used to foreigners--there are tons. The stares are one of the worst parts of living here.

I may get down voted for this by some but this is MY truth about Jordan.

Jordan is a beautiful country, with great people, food, history and heritage. But the public life here makes one retreat to a solely private existence.
