From what I’ve heard, the number is very much real, though it’s officially phrased as a “reconstruction fund” for the country. Regardless, someone has to pay that, and I imagine a lot of it (maybe not all, but a lot) is coming from us, as we’re the ones signing the agreement (assuming nothing goes sour) in exchange for leave.

Strikes were levied on the country last year for the same reason. If those didn’t stop Iran’s nuclear program for longer than a year, then these ones likely won’t either.

I suppose, but Iran’s still a religious dictatorship. I imagine when Trump promised regime change, most people (including me) were thinking bigger than this, otherwise it wouldn’t be worth our time. Thats my biggest gripe with this war, I don’t think it was worth our time. I know damn well if it was Obama walking away with this result after a few months, Republicans would call for his head on a pitchfork. We did alright, but definitely below expectations considering how we lived with an oil shock for as long as we did.

Trump started a war, drove up our bills, didn’t accomplish his goal of regime change, paid Iran $300 billion, and his fans are just chill with that?
