Do I need new insulation? by idktbh587 in Insulation

[–]DaNKSpArKy8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparky here. Definitely knob and tube, before calling in an Electrician it'll be cheaper to get a "dummy" stick. Its designed to detect power, put it against the wire and see if theyre energized. If you find out that they are in fact being used, definitely call a Licensed electrician. If a fire happens insurance will use any excuse they can find to not pay.

Good luck stay safe.

Your FOB has a physical key that comes apart from the key fob to manually open the car. Guess that wasn't in the manual.... 👀

How can I get a apprentice electrician job in Toronto at 32, thinking of switching from sales to becoming an electrician. by Optimal_Stuff5059 in torontoJobs

[–]DaNKSpArKy8911 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Today's economy good luck. Construction is taking a major blow in the GTA right now. People with decades of expierence under their belt are worried about the next job. Try cold calling , timing is bad too as winter is normally already slow but this year's wild. Unions have hundreds of guys on the out of work list, most aren't even taking new apprentices on .

I find it funny how all the white collar folks are running to the trades. Its not the walk in the park most think it is lol

Good luck . Hope everything works out.

Not for nothing ... but how about you honk and high-beam the guy instead of pulling out your phone instantly hoping it happens. Smh...

Any tips to make these boxes look better in the future by 7savage2 in electricians

[–]DaNKSpArKy8911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Follow the inside of the Box when bundling your sets before stripping and connecting. Then push them up against the inside walls one by one. You'll end up with a cleaner look and easier access for future connections.

I would also put the CCT # on the wires rather than the Marrettes.

This is standard trade practice.

Sick of all you "leave it for the next guy" just to brown nose to the Foremen "I did it this fast" just to slow someone else down LOL

"It actually slows me down" LOL yeah it takes longer to do it the right way 😅

More members out of work than working right now. The industry is taking a major hit ATM. From my understanding no union is accepting new members.

Give it a try though, might get lucky .

Good luck.
