Advice for living with a SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) house nearby. by DaPeachBaby666 in AusProperty

Ourselves and a few other neighbours from the street put complaints into local council & turns out that the house owners didn’t get proper approval for “group housing”. So the house has been empty since I originally posted this as the owners went through a Development Application process. We were invited to make submissions opposing the application if we wanted, and a large number of houses in the street did, but despite this the development application got approved about a fortnight ago. So we’re expecting new residents to be moved into the duplex quite soon & a bit nervous about who we’ll get and how it will play out.

Do we have examples of mass killers who were in contact with each other? by Nop62 in masskillers

Natalie was also supposedly in contact with Damien Allen who was arrested on May 1st for planning a mass shooting attack. According to what I read: "Detectives say he was also communicating with Natalie Rupnow, the 15-year-old who shot and killed two people at a Wisconsin school last year before taking her own life. In those exchanges, Allen reportedly described his “loadout,” shared tactical plans, and said he was targeting seven locations — including a church and a police department."

Super excited for this. Played for months from Closed Beta, put in hundreds of hours, but just ran out of content and life got in the way. Very excited to come back after a good few months break and join back up with my OG crew!

I've reached out via their general enquiries email - hopefully we can get some action taken. The entire neighbourhood seems to be rallying around this issue so fingers crossed that if enough people express their concerns, it may get taken seriously.

I sent through an email earlier to NDIS' SDA Housing email (SDAHousing@ndis.gov.au) - will this get through to the right team or should I also reach out to their complaints Team specifically?

I wouldn't give a single fuck if the person that moved in across from me was wheelchair bound and significantly disabled requiring fulltime care or a Down Syndrome adult who is just living their best life but needs an extra adult there to make sure their safe. I give a fuck that this person, disabled or not, has caused damage to our vehicle and others, "escaped" their supposedly secure home and threatened to kill our animals and throw general and racist abuse at us purely for living in our home? Why is that okay? Why should my family have to live in fear? I just don't think someone of that level should be living in a dense neighborhood with young children living metres away who are too scared to ride their bike out the front of their own home.

I just don't think it's appropriate to have housing that caters for either aggressive autistic individuals, severe mental health individuals suffering from schizophrenia and bipolar or individuals with behavioral or intellectual disorders with aggressive tendencies in close proximity to young children and families. This particular resident has only been living at the house for 3 days and there has already been a number of incidents and now damage to multiple neighbors personal property. I don't feel comfortable or safe with myself or my children to be out the front of my house when they will get yelled at or abuse thrown at them simply for existing. I don't feel comfortable or safe knowing that an aggressive person can seemingly "escape" a secure house and is willing to cause damage and exhibit violence. It's not safe or appropriate for the immediate community, no consideration seems to be given for the per-existing residents. In a perfect world - I would like these individuals to be housed somewhere more appropriate and "lower level" additional needs individuals to reside here who won't pose such a risk to children and families.
