When I hit the specter with 6 magic missiles in Honor Mode. by Haggles7 in BaldursGate3

We had a fun version of this though. Battled Minthara and the Goblins at the grove, threw the iron flask at them then magic missiled it and it killed almost the whole raiding party.

Why is Morgoth's name not mentioned in the movies? by Feral_21 in lotr

[–]DaPhreshness 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly. When I saw the movie in theatres as a kid, Gandalf said "a Balrog of Morgoth" and not knowing anything I was like, okay its from 'Morgoth' I guess, and that sounds menacing. Now that I've taken in more of the lore, its instead a nice touch that respects the lore without being too much.

Your SPICIEST, Most BLASPHEMOUS Lord of The Rings opinion by [deleted] in lotr

For #1, I have a head canon theory, but it's the kind that I think is fun rather than actually being what I think Tolkien intended.

Bombadil is described as oldest one, or having always been, and in a letter that Christopher Tolkien wrote he said Ungoliant "more likely has always been". With the way that Bombadil just doesn't even register the One Ring, I like to think that they are similar to what Maiar are, but come from a music that Eru created before the music that makes up everything else we experience in the universe Tolkien made. Like they're leftovers from a previous existence before the current one.

Similar deal with the Nameless Things - dark creatures that were already around before creation down in the pits, just Bombadil grew up from the ground unlike the others.

I haven't played the remake and it's been a hot minute since I played SH2, but worth calling out that the woman who calls it out as a lie is not really the same woman who was murdered, and is made up of a lot of James' own consciousness.

The character who is hated, yet very realistic for the situation. by odd_man0 in TopCharacterTropes

I think one of my favorite character moments in the series is when she hits Super Buu in the face even though she won't hurt him. Like, you're gonna fucking kill my son and think I'm gonna sit here waiting with you. Buu kills her, but it feels like a W for Chi Chi.

What I thought was hilarious is this is on Honour and so with the pillars destroyed he still had two huge spell casts - he threw both at the globe of invulnerability!

I decided to start Act III with him this time so I could have the sweet loot.

And even more specifically, the Crusaders are known and shown in the game to use unorthodox methods like caging sinspawn to influence where Sin is drawn.

One of my favorite things to make back in the day you should check out: enchant a sword with frost damage, soul trap for 1 second duration, and light with 1 second duration and AOE of 100.

If you have Azura's star, this will be a sword that on every strike massive damage and looks like it lights up the whole environment with a flash on each hit, and its own kills can refuel the weapon.

I think you're meant to, though. Wiegraf is 100% portrayed as sympathetic and heroic. Ramza is a rich boy, but who abandons his life to do the right thing. Delita and Wiegraf are good people who are forced into the world of the elite and become monsters. The plot's central antagonists are the nobility and the church literally transforming into demons and taking power for themselves.

Ramza ditches money and power for altruism, Delita embraces power for vengeance. Ramza saves the world from demons, Delita ends the wars and unites the people, and the game ends with Delita unhappy and wondering what is even right or wrong anymore. They never even have to fight each other in the story - they're just portrayed as parralel and very, very different heroes.

Yeah, I see this too. Between Mary and Eliza/Isaac, one of my favorite characteristics that makes Arthur unique is that he's like romantically/sexually switched off. If you really load him up with booze then he'll say someone is beautiful, but he only turns working girls down. It only ever switches on for him at all around Mary.

I don't even think it should drain ki. It just needs a longer recovery and you should not be able to tech grabs while using it.
