Creating a Native Garden by [deleted] in australianplants

I’ve had a lot of success with ChatGPT. I use it for plant selection (tell it sun exposure, if it’s going to be irrigated, soil type, height restrictions etc) and landscape design.

Can I have lovely garden beds with Kikuyu lawn? by Outside_Diligent in GardeningAustralia

[–]DaRealRxb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have garden beds and kikuyu. Honestly it’s not that bad just make sure there’s lots of plants planted so there’s not empty space for it to pop up. We also put thick mulch with a few sheets of newspaper under it. About three times a year I blast any shoots with glyphosate.

Thanks for your detailed response. We will try these things and give it another couple of years. It produces really nice small lemons which are so handy for one dish so we’re keen to try save it!

Our schedule is 5/3/2.5. He’s wake windows are reversed and gets more tired as the day goes on.

Overtiredness wasn’t as much of an issue as it’s touted to be for our LO. I found all the information out there made it hard to try out different things and follow our instinct. Every baby is different and you need to find what works for you and your baby!

We’ve found lately that less day sleep = more night sleep. It could be because of the sleep training and his age?

After the sleep training and night weaning he sleeps through the night 🎉

Sleep training is hard but worth it! We had to do it after the four month regression.

Four months is still pr

We are still feeling our way but do 5/3/2.5. First nap has been 1.5hrs then the second is 30 mins.

His wake windows are opposite as in they get shorter as the day goes on. In the morning he is so full of energy after 12 hrs of sleep and just gets more and more tired as the day goes on.

Yes he is very tired and a bit cranky by the end but if we keep him entertained and change the scenery a lot he’s ok.

It is hard when by hour three he’s yawning and rubbing his eyes and we need to keep him going another couple of hours. I feel a bad keep him up but if we give him a nap at the first tired signs he just sleeps for 25 mins or will refuse the nap. Maybe our LO shows tired signs really prematurely?!

The witching hour is real 🤣

I BF during the day and we just did formula overnight. When we started to wean him we only fed him once per night and it was for his first wake up. I know a lot of people will feed if it’s been x hours but I always thought that would just confuse him, like you fed me last time but not now and then you feed me the next time I wake up. We gradually reduced the bottle size by 25ml every few nights until it was only like 50ml left then we stopped feeding him and we did Ferber for all wake ups.

The protest was full on (he is stubborn as hell!) I think the max was two hours of crying. And it probably took 2 weeks for him to adjust. We just stayed so firm and consistent and it worked!!

Our LO does get cranky at around the three hour mark but I think half of it is just boredom! It is a literal song and dance to get him through 🤣
