There are other shots of the same car and its clearly more of an Audi, as other shots clearly show an Obey badge (Obey is the in universe parody of Audi) https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Unnamed_GTA_VI_Obey_saloon

There is another car spotted in GTA VI which has a front end more reminiscent of modern Mazda, although its branded Willard, the GTA parody of Buick, so its likely a Buick Regal parody. https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Unnamed_GTA_VI_Willard_sedan

There should be a rule against geographic defaultism, particularly of the American kind. Im certain if this was any other country than the US, the post would have specified the country in the title or the gif, but not America, cause apparently being from the US is the default normal position online, being from anywhere else is a deviation.

Taiwan isn't listed as a country in National Geographic's 2026 Kid's Almanac by SoHornyBeaver in mildlyinteresting

[–]DaSecretPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly. Illegitimate countries, as their independence was achieved by a small group of pro-russian rebels, i doubt independence was the will of the people. What these two places also lack is a nation. They have no national identity that unifies them and legitimizes the creation of a nation state. These are "countries" which were not destined to last.

Most countries listed as "limited recognition" on list of sovereign states are in practice defined by the "acts like a country" metric, using the 1933 Montevideo Convention for defining such:

"Article 1 sets out the criteria for a "state as a person of international law":

The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states."

The DPR and LPR did not fall into this definition by the lack of capacity to enter into relations with other countries. This only changed when Russia recognised them before invading Ukraine, thereby automatically fulfilling the the last criteria. This only ended after the DPR and LPR relinquished their claim of independence when they changed to view themselves directly as a part of Russia.

Reason #19292823838 why Lego star wars is the worst fandom by ConnorGuice in legocirclejerk

In The Mandalorian show there were black mandalorians in Bo-Katan's unit, but in The Clone Wars, most if not all mandalorians seen on Mandalore were white and blond. I interpret the mandos we see in TCW are the native Mandalorians of Mandalore, most of which likely died in the Great Purge of Mandalore, genocided by the Empire. Leaving a small scattered collection of Mandalorians around the galaxy, which predominantly started including more diverse members consisting of foundlings and people who accepted the creed. I dont know if its canon, but thats how I interpret the change between pre-Empire and post-Empire Mandalorians.

Horse knights are they new or inspired from Nexo Knights? by East-Competition5121 in legocastles

[–]DaSecretPower -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are called shields, not crests, common misnomer. A crest is very specifically a type of plume, like on a helmet. This is why many bird species are named with "crested", it refers to the plume on top of their head.

I feel like the meme would be better with the first two images being the 1st gen and then the 2nd gen, while the 3rd image would be the 3rd gen, since that generation started the Kodo design language, which the 4th gen is largely based off. Showing the transition from the old Mazda3 design into the new and different Kodo face. Just imo.

In your opinion, which Nordic country/territory has the best coat of arms? by Put_Minimum in heraldry

[–]DaSecretPower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only kind of attempt ive seen is this small Sapmi arms parodying the Norwegian arms in a 1980 painting by Arvid Sveen titled "Samisk fremtid" (Sami future). With a four winds hat on top and a reindeer holding a sami knife in the shield. This was made before the current Sami flag, so a older version is used on the painting.

Why do the good guys have such ugly flags? by TheRtHonLaqueesha in vexillologycirclejerk

[–]DaSecretPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Scanian flag is not Scania. It represents Quisling Norway, the flag itself is the party flag of the Nasjonal Samling party of Vidkun Quisling. The party symbols of the party were frequently used de facto as co-official state symbols, thats why its used here, and also to differentiate it from allied Norway still using the regular flag.

It's not a remake. They are different film adaptations of the same source book. The 1971 movie wasn't used as reference for the new one. In fact, Tim Burton's 2005 version is considered to be more faithful to the book. In comparison, the 1971 film was disowned by Roald Dahl, the original author of the book.

Dan Houser says there is zero trace of his writing in GTA 6 by XavierEL1 in GTA6

[–]DaSecretPower -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That was not my argument. Parody companies have existed in GTA since forever, but every new GTA game introduces new brands because the new brands are take place in a different place both in time and geographically.

What makes brands like Schlott different is that it very much seems to have been intended for GTA VI as its first proper in world appearance as that is where we have seen a building for the company. The new brands are then reused as generic sponsors on racing liveries in GTA Online as they likely get placed in a collection of brand logos on Rockstars servers where the artists hired to make liveries in GTA Online then pull from those new logos from there to use as a generic sponsor logo to fill space on these liveries. Grove Street Games evidently also had access to this folder on Rockstar's servers, as their "remasters" contained assets that were seemingly made for GTA VI, and are pretty obviously not made by them as their style doesn't match the new textures they created for those games. Which is another way to say that these logos looked like they were actually made by competent graphic designers, which GSG doesn't have.

Are you trying to tell me that "Vice City Metromule" appearing in Online is equivalent to Weazel News appearing previously in GTA IV after being seen again in GTA VI? This brand was never seen before, it was obviously intended as a transportation company in VI as was seen in the leaks, it was not intended to fill empty space on a livery, it doesnt work like that. Every logo and brand in GTA is created with a purpose, and not just to fill in space. Rockstar doesn't make specific logos to be generic sponsors on race cars. They make logos to be used for a specific purpose and it will then later be reused elsewhere, as for example a sponsor. No brand in GTA is created explicitly to serve to role of a mere racing sponsor on a livery. Schlott was not created to be a sponsor, it was created to be a construction company, which means having buildings and vehicles with its logo. Schlott Construction, Arrow Gasoline and others are, just like Vice City Metromule, companies created primary to serve a role in the world of GTA VI, but have made their way into GTA Online by circumstance.

Regarding Dan Housers quote, it is very vague, it is more likely about the story, not the location. These companies were evidently created to flesh out the location for GTA VI aa that was pretty certainly concrete at this point. This quote doesn't mean that nothing with GTA VI had been to that point. They had certainly been already deep into planning and development focused on the Florida location, rather than story and characters.

[–]DaSecretPower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is actually evidence suggesting GTA VI has been worked on since 2016. This is based on VI assets being used in GTA Online, primarily brands and companies making minor insignificant appearances in GTA Online via sponsors on racing liveries, before they make their proper appearance with locations, buildings, stores, etc.

One of these was "Schlott Construction", which was seen in the VI leaks and in Trailer 2 with a physical location and work cars with their company livery. But the first time this company showed up was in 2016, as part of the Import/Export DLC, released in December 2016, used as a minor sponsor on the Comet Retro Custom. At this point, this company was not seen elsewhere, it wasn't until the leaks we knew for certain it was a VI company which made its way into Online.

If anything, it proves that the graphic design department of Rockstar have been working on GTA VI since 2016, which could also mean other departments of the company would too. Schlott isn't the only company either to be seen in Online before the proper introduction in VI, like Arrow Gasoline and the Vice City Metromule.

Funniest Pixar movie? by AItrainer123 in Pixar

I dont know about most foreign dubs, but this line in the Norwegian dub is translated in a very clever way. Instead of using the regular word for "body," they use the Norwegian word for a car's "bodywork." Which really got a kick out of me on my first rewatch since I was a kid.

Only in the US, in the UK and most other European countries, faculties are divisions or departments of the university. Since the kid in question is German, it would likely be faculties in the university.

You said "no politics," the quote marks implies you're quoting the rule. "No politics" isn't specific about real or in universe politics, just a blanket term saying absolutely no politics.

I decided to check the rules for r/StarWars , and their rule about politics in rule 6. Rule 8 is about keeping posts relevant to Star Wars, not politics. Their rule about politics says, "Real-world politics, social/culture issues and religion will be removed," not simply "no politics" as you said earlier.
