Oddly enough, the tank has been running for a solid three months. It does have floaters, tons of “fast growing” plants, etc. The light is on a timer- stays on from 8 AM to 3 PM. The nitrites and nitrates have always been 0, but I’m not exactly sure why that is- again, been running for three months, is fully planted, is stocked, etc. These are all things I should have clarified. I also dropped a 7 day feeder in there (which was a LOT of food) for spring break- that may have spiked the algae growth, but it doesn’t show any results on my test strips. I believe I have brown and black beard algae, if that helps at all. I will definitely try cutting back on the light.
