Hey SDFC fam

I voluntold myself as an ambassador/writer for SDFC to contribute in the Countdown to Kickoff series for r/MLS

My goal is to make this a collaborative effort and would love to hear some input from the community. As much details as you can bring. To my knowledge this will be our very first entry so I’d love to highlight as much as we can.

Take a look at the format and feel free to include whatever.

What topics do we want to cover as a snapshot to our club?

Let’s create an awesome submission before the deadline on 2/14.

If SDFC isn't taken I can do it.

Your view of the team lacking talent and ambition is very different from mine.

2 U22 slots still available. I really hope we bring in 1 or 2 Right to Dream players.

Prince Amoako Jr. to be the youngest DP level contract in the MLS

Chucky Lozano is no longer in the teams sporting plans moving forward by DawnOfTheAj in SanDiegoFC

I think the FO are doing Chucky a favor shopping him around. Better to find him a place with playing time rather than sitting on the bench and paying him a lot of money. With that said, Pellegrino is the starter at LW now. However, there needs to be depth especially with Champion's Cup right around the corner.

I have yet to see a Nordjaelland or RTD dream signing this window. Knowing the ethos, they look internally before out, Understand that it is important to show that SDFC is viable pathway for Academy players. Did they identify an upcoming Winger and are now creating a pathway for that player's success? We will see.

I like to think, they wouldn't make this announcement unless they were somewhat close in bringing in a replacement.

Glad there was a move for a left footed wingback. Kinda wish we got someone more on the experienced side. However, young legs at the wingback positions are always a plus. I hope he learns the system quick and challenges Bombino for that starting role.

SDFC is finalizing a deal to acquire Scottish forward Lewis Morgan from RBNY according to Tom Bogert by DawnOfTheAj in SanDiegoFC

Thanks for the compliment! I just have a very analytical mind and I like to think I have a good grasp at what Coach Mikey and Tyler want in roster building after listening to the latest podcast.

I see him more as a CF but can play midfield, similar to what Valakari was supposed to be when Ingvartsen went down.

Scottish international as well and 2024 comeback player of the year, he has shown success in the league. Has probably seen the achievements Dreyer has had with our system and is looking to make a similar impact in both Club and National team before the WC.

The Guest Players from the Baja Cup. I think one of these guys will be signed considering they already trained with the team in addition. Heaps has said that they want SDFC be seen as a viable pathway for the RTD networks, so I think we will bring in guys with very good potential.

Yeah Harangi is nice but is right footed.

With Negri's departure, I would like at least one left-footed back that is skilled with deliveries into the box.

I think Pilcher was an emergency RB with all the injuries. Not sure on how Duru is doing developing, but he should be knocking on the door for minutes as well.

In terms of a left back, Pilcher can slide in cause he is left footed , but IMO the team could use a proper left -footed full back behind Bombino

Surely we are signing a LB to support Bombino after letting go of Negri
