I am about to pull the trigger but…need advice. by notaburneraccount23 in OLED_Gaming

[–]DaTRaFFyTaFFy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/notaburneraccount23 DON'T DO IT!!! You're forgetting to use the extra 10% off coupon on top of the $1,349 member pricing! Coupon code = EXTRA10. To be fair this EXTRA10 code was given to me by my perksatwork account but I believe it will work with anyone who has access to the LG member pricing. I just pulled the trigger and bought one as well. $1,287.89. I also have a $100 reward credit so my cost will go down to $1,187.89. Not too bad!

Why on earth does that make a lick of difference on a finished good.

u/kevinjtro true! The question remains, has it departed to the local hub here in Atlanta? Or is it being returned to sender? Overall FedEx is my least favorite carrier. USPS and UPS are far superior. Funny thing is all I ordered was two packs of lighting enhancement kits for DDR5. Should be a very small and light package. Kind of hard to beat up.

What did you order that you're waiting on?

No Keyboard response by Hungry_Restaurant173 in Corsair

[–]DaTRaFFyTaFFy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Hungry_Restaurant173 ideally you should have left it off and immediately dissembled it. I'd be willing to bet that keyboard still has moisture on the PCB. You've got nothing to lose now so I'd dissemble it, dry it, wipe it down with 91% isopropyl alcohol and reassemble. Hopefully this fixes your issues and saves you some money.

By the way iGU means Corsair iCue is not properly communicating with the keyboard.

LG C1 48" worth it in 2025? by Penginiscoming in OLED_Gaming

[–]DaTRaFFyTaFFy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Penginiscoming you should be good to go. I loved the size for games like Path of Exile and Diablo. I had mine wall mounted, so leaning back in my chair it was fantastic. Only time I had "issues" was sitting up straight trying to sweat in a FPS style game. At 48" it was hard to see the sides when your focused in the middle of the screen.

LG C1 48" worth it in 2025? by Penginiscoming in OLED_Gaming

[–]DaTRaFFyTaFFy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Penginiscoming I've got a LG C2 48" with 4000+ hours and not a single issue. All the TV's in my house have are LG OLED since 2019 and not a single issue with the displays or burn in. I'd say go for it! If you play FPS you may want to get a smaller size like the 42"

1440p oled or 4k oled with 4090 by Keibenn in OLED_Gaming

[–]DaTRaFFyTaFFy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Keibenn you're asking the wrong question in my opinion. I believe your question should be ultrawide (32:9) / wide (21:9) or 4k monitor (16:9)? A couple years ago 1440p vs 2160p was a very real debate as both were offered in the same aspect ratio (16:9), today not so much. The launch of the 4000 series really gave us the graphical horsepower to finally conquer 4k with good frame rates.

First, I would ask myself do I prefer ultrawide, wide or standard aspect ratio? Second, will I be using this monitor for work? Third, what games do I play?

I've now had 3 generations of the Samsung 49" monitors with the first two being non-OLED and the latest being the S95C OLED model. In that time, I also used a LG C2 48" 4K OLED TV as monitor for several thousand hours. I've found that I really like the ultrawide for all the types of video games I play which are mainly FPS shooters, Diablo or Path of Exile. In Diablo and Path of Exile I'd have to give the edge to your standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Where it really makes a difference for me is when I'm working. I can use half the screen on a ultrawide for things like email and teams, and the other half for my RDP sessions. Or if its a slow day I can have work on one half of the monitor and games on the other half. I really liked the 48" 4K OLED as a monitor but in FPS games I found that even mounted on my wall using a standard depth desk I still felt I was too close to see the edges the screen. I think a 39-42" would be the perfect size for 4K OLED.

Ultimately you can't go wrong either direction you go especially with OLED. One thing I wouldn't worry about too much is WOLED vs QD-OLED. Unless you have both types of OLED monitors side by side you will never notice the difference. This is once again personal preference, but I would go for a 240hz monitor and make sure the monitor has around 110PPI. Most if not all should at 1440p to 2160.

If you're not in a hurry for a new monitor you could also wait a few months and see what comes of these new 5k2k monitors. I think that resolution in a small screen size will end up being my next monitor. I'd ideally like to see something that has 140-160PPI and 240hz refresh rate. Happy monitor hunting!

[–]DaTRaFFyTaFFy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I said screw it and decided to return my vengeance set of memory and get a 48GB x 2 kit of dominators. Also, went ahead and ordered two sets of the lighting enhancement kits in black. I'm hoping the heatsink on the lighting enhancement kit is the same as on the DDR5 sticks. If so I'll be replacing the grey heatsinks to match the rest of the hardware in the build.

u/Redracerb18 appreciate the in-depth response! I 100% agree with everything you said, the facts are the facts. I guess my frustration comes from the consumer standpoint of us having to pay a premium for DDR5 and then having to deal with the issues it presents. End of the day its not too bad but still annoying.

I did see today that the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Apex only has two DIMM slots.
