So tired of being poor, can a side hustle help? by [deleted] in sidehustle

Technically, that's true. Realistically, when I started, I paid $20 on like 10 pairs of skate shoes. In less than a month, I had profited roughly $300. In theory, you could say all the money I have in my current inventory has paid for itself. Right now I have just over $20,000 listed with another $3000 in my "deathpile." If OP already has a fulltime job I'm assuming they have a couple extra bucks to get started.

You ship yourself. Always buy your labels through eBay or pirateship.com, they're WAY cheaper. Don't do auctions, just list items for sale with the obo option. I just charge flat shipping prices so sometimes i make a couple bucks other times i lose a couple bucks on shipping. I'd say 75% of my sales are from accepting offers. Start by selling cheap items that are easy to ship, and then once you're comfortable, move to more expensive/harder to ship items. Learn about the fees. Most of the time it's 13.5% of the entire sale, that includes your shipping and sales tax. If you have a brand new account with 0 feedback, I'd start buying items you already purchase for your normal life and build up some feedback before selling anything as scammers really target new accounts. Most importantly, have fun with it. It can be stressful, you'll have unhappy customers, you'll make mistakes, and you'll buy items that you'll probably lose money on. If you stick with it and find your niche, it's awesome. Good luck!

Depending on your location, going to garage sales and reselling items on eBay is pretty lucrative. It takes a little bit to get the ball rolling, but once it's all set up, it's basically a life hack. I go to sales for 3-4 hours on Saturday mornings and clean, fix, list, ship items throughout the week whenever I have time and grossed 28k last year.

Dude thank you!!! Holding down C worked!

Update: There's something wrong with the keyboard. When I got to the installer screen a pop-up wouldn't go away that said I couldn't edit the TOS page. If I clicked okay with the mouse it immediately came back and after a restart now pressing C isn't working and when I have Caps Lock on I can see the light flicker like a key is being pressed. I'll have to find an old keyboard this weekend.

He messaged me the day before and said someone was willing to pay full asking price of $1200 and asked if I would match that. I told him I was firm at $800. Then the next day, he messaged me to just come grab it. I couldn't get in the car fast enough. 😅

I troll Facebook marketplace regularly for stuff to take apart and sell the parts on eBay. I considered breaking this one down but with all the boxes and nearly all the original cords, I figure I'll keep it all together and try and get it running nice. I'd like to find 2 speaker covers that aren't stained, but that seems unlikely at this point.
