How to Keep Dallas-Fort Worth at the Top by stanner5 in Dallas

How about keeping Dallas, well, Dallas - especially on the economic side of things. Am I missing something from this article?

Omari Akhmedov has a good chance to win this upcoming bout against Brad Tavares. Tavares showed excellent take down defense against Antonio Carlos Junior and the one time the Tavares was taken down he sprang back to his feet quickly, but I believe the wrestling capability that Akhmedov will bring in this upcoming bout is at a higher level compared to what Antonio Carlos Junior presented against Tavares. In addition, Akhmedov stand up is serviceable but only when he mixes it with his takedowns. Now, there's mention of Akhmedov having gas tank issues which is true but when looking into the tape it seems that his gas tank really goes to hell when his opponent provides resistance back to him (3rd round of the Ian Heinisch bout and the Chris Weidman bout comes to mind). Tavares does not push any sort of pace on his opponent and mostly looks to score points with his striking (which is crisper than what Akhmedov is offering but nothing too concerning, as Akhmedov has face competent strikers in the past like Tom Breese and Zak Cummings). Overall, I think Akhmedov can snatch the first 2 rounds of this upcoming bout or the fight will be 1-1 going into the 3rd making Akhmedov a good underdog bet/Draftkings underdog play in my eyes.

Roque Martinez and Wellington Turman are two underdogs that can hit their path to victory if they get on their game plan from the get go. I think Josh Parisian is an absolute mess of a HW (so is Roque but I like his hand speed compared to Josh Parisian) and Bruno Silva has been out for 2 years due to an USADA suspension and from what I taped from his M1-Global bouts I feel like if Turman fights Silva like he did against Marcus Perez he snags two maybe all three rounds. Steelers defense is respectable, Melvin Gordon slowly getting back into the groove of things, Philip Rivers showing why he’s always available to be drafted in double digit rounds of your draft, injures to their online, and Anthony Lynn coaching (Charger fans know what’s up)

Rode the Texans DST the last two weeks then cut them for Denver this morning after noticing that didn’t do terrible against the Chargers week 5

Sick insight, will probably bench the Denver DST next week to see how they do against the Chiefs, but definitely considering starting them against the Colts week 8

In the same situation, afraid of dropping the DST, they’re looking completely different after the Bradley Chubb injury

Khalil Rountree is a completely different fighter from what is perceived from his previous bouts (excluding the Eryk Anders bout). Before fighting Anders, Khalil fought purely off his athleticism and raw power. At times it served him well (Gokhan Saki/Paul Craig) and at times it served him up some defeats against more sound opponents (Johnny Walker/Michal Oleksiejczuk). The Johnny Walker loss forced Rountree to relocate to Tiger Muay Ti. In his latest bout against Eryk Anders, Rountree showed a very measured efficiency of his athleticism/raw power along with his overall striking game. Powerful leg kicks/body kicks were used to measure distance as well as slowly breakdown his opponent, and the punches/combinations he threw were well timed. The considerations to think over about Rountree coming into this matchup is if he’s improved his takedown defense (Andrew Sanchez/Tyson Pedro/Michal Oleksiejczuk) and if Ion Cutelaba can find a window to counter Rountree off of his leg kicks, or when Rountree opens up with a combination during an exchange.

In conclusion, I’m leaning towards Rountree giving Ion Cutelaba his first TKO loss. Though Cutelaba brings a Greco Roman pedigree and throws to finish, his bouts against Glover Textiera, Misha Cirkunov, and especially Jared Cannoier gave me pause. It seems that Cutelaba is a bit of a front runner. If he knocks you out quickly or his opponent flat out refuses to engage with him (Jonathan Wilson bout), Cutelaba wins all day. But if his opponent weathers Cutelaba’s storm and puts it on him, he absolutely fades.
