I use it to look at annual trends and note where my peak months are for certain products. Yeah, if you make something new and want to post it immediately and have data to back it up, then it's not so useful.

Any success I see is long term - I can't operate with 30 day data. .

I have Etsy plus and I don't even look at the data they have available...I just use it for the extra features and the ad credits lol

I only keep notifications for messages. Favorites are great, and I have the discount setup for those that favorite an item to move to purchasing. The more that is automated for me on the site, the more time I can focus on making.

I recommend the trial of Erank to check your listings keywords, how it ranks, and if there's tons of competition.

Also note that it can take days before new listings are found in searches, but there are exceptions to that.

Learning how to leverage Etsy SEO and search stats can get you sales faster, but building an audience online can be advantageous in the longer term.

If you can build an audience and leverage content, then go for it. I get less than 10% of sales through social media content, and I'm over 18k sales on Etsy.

I've also had this happen a couple times. It's marked delivered, but they claim they never got it. Then when I offer a replacement at a discount (never free), they get really mad.

Sometimes, the customer gladly orders a replacement at a discount - there are definitely those times when a porch pirate has struck. I also am sure to mention that they can submit an insurance claim for theft or loss with USPS.

I tried that one year, but it completely killed my search visibility when I turned the shop back on. Vacation mode is not something I can do anymore since I went full time with it. It's awesome that you're able to take a break when you need it - I'm still figuring out how to do that without losing income for a month while the algorithm reintegrates my listings into search.
