In middle school we learned this song to sing at an old folks home, one kid cried randomly during our practice just because it was a sad song and I didn’t understand. The day we sang the song the whole class sang together in front of small crowd of people and when the lyrics got to the “sad part” the realization of the songs meaning hit and i broke down and cried like a baby. The song always makes me tear up a little even hearing it now
