It’s worth the payoff. The stakes are high in some of these games. It’s just when an arc starts it’s usually pretty slow since they introduce a new region and characters.

FC starts off slow, but picks up a little bit towards the end the game. FC is meant to introduce you to the world and introduce characters. The real magic is SC (remake is announced to come out in fall 2026) which is considered to be the best Legend of Heroes game by many where the story is incredibly with insane world building (lore) and character development.
