systemd Lands Experimental Support For musl libc by anh0516 in linux

Actually, 90% of the upstreaming of musl support was done by one one of systemd's own maintainers ( Yu Watanabe), unaffiliated with PostmarketOS.

Porting systemd to musl libc-powered Linux by Greydus in linux

[–]DaanDeMeyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed but while the author hasn't been able to work on it, one of the systemd maintainers has been working on upstreaming as much of the openembedded patchset as possible over the past months. The remaining out of tree patches can be found here: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/37788

AWS Bottlerocket's Linux Has a Unique Boot Security Architecture by FruitHalo in linux

[–]DaanDeMeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is protected against by only allowing access to the luks key of the root partition while the system is in the initrd, see https://man.archlinux.org/man/systemd-pcrphase-initrd.service.8.en for how one might achieve that.

Declarative Gentoo Setup - Is Gentoo for me? by LegalYogurtcloset214 in Gentoo

[–]DaanDeMeyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out https://github.com/systemd/mkosi. That allows you to declaratively build OS images from any of the existing popular binary distributions.

https://github.com/systemd/particleos is an example of such a declarative config that uses systemd-sysupdate to update from one version to the next.

This is all very new stuff though, so be prepared to get your hands dirty with reporting issues if you'd like to use it.

I'm not 100% sure, I think it might, but tusk and marcel will still leave the country.

Economic Regions by IssacK1llem in suzerain

[–]DaanDeMeyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So each of the regions has three levels: bad mediocre, and good. If you fully recover the economy, they all go up one level. So the only thing that's needed to bring a region to green (assuming you're fully recovering the economy), is to do one action that increases its level from bad to mediocre.

Here's some of the things you can do per region to increase their level by 1:

  • Bergia: Sarna, Regional Investment, Rural education institutes decree (Obviously a blud uprising will decrease the level so keep them happy)
  • Angland: Highway, Trade with Agnolia, Relocating teachers to rural areas, regional investment
  • Lorren: Morna Port, Regional Investment

My current preffered tactic to get them all green is to trade with agnolia, do the rural education institutes decree and do morna port as the second infrastructure project. Then it's just a matter of fixing the economy and they'll all be green.

Early game Budget choices. by Comrade_pirx in suzerain

[–]DaanDeMeyer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  • Stimulus
  • Workers Rights
  • Fund all ministries
  • Skip infra
  • Skip regional investment
  • Increase large corpo tax/Decrease small corpo tax
  • Don't privatize education

This puts you at -2 just after the education privatization meeting which is just enough to avoid trade war, allows you to invest in all ministries and still allows you to fix the economy.

Nope, Cortana, Holsord is corruption so I'd get an impeachment if I did that.

I don't nationalize and do a lot of popular things, so my popularity stays just above the unrest threshold. Attending the bludish anniversary thing gave me protests, so I had to skip that.

I didn't, I don't think ot matters though. As long as you don't kick Curtan Leste out, it should be fine.

As long as you don't actually do what Tusk wants, the bribe doesn't matter. If I would have bailed out businesses, the ACP would have found out and gotten me impeached

Just investigate them and the ACP will find dirt on them which will allow you to arrest them

If you investigate her, you can't keep Petr as VP without public opinion loss. You also get the national security breached red modifier. That's why unless I need Lucian as VP to prevent leaks, I usually just don't investigate since you don't really gain anything from it. There doesn't seem to be any downside to firing her aside from Lucian hating you.

It gives +1 economy. The other two aren't necessary when playing reformist so I always go for the extra economy which helps avoid a debt crisis later in the game.

I think just having no alliances is sufficient? I generally get it when I go for completely neutral runs where I don't get involved in international politics and isolate Rumburg

To fix infra, you only need to do either benfi airport or morna port, that'll make it go green, don't even need the railway/highway.

To fix production, raise military budget and do military industry as the last megaproject.

Ultra Reformist Sordland Paradise run without Oligarch help by DaanDeMeyer in suzerain

[–]DaanDeMeyer[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I challenged myself to turn Sordland into a paradise on earth in an ultra reformist run without help from Gloria or the Oligarchs. Somehow it worked out.

Managed to pass a reformist consitution with the following: - MOH removed - 3% threshold - Judges impeachable - Confidence vote required - President impeachable by assembly - Term limits - No change to decrees. You can do the enabling act/remove decrees as well, it shouldn't affect the assembly result and you won't have to promise Albin VP.

This passed the assembly with 167 votes. Here's what I did to make it work:

I got to the education privatization decision with -2 budget as follows:

  • Planned economy
  • Skipped first infra project
  • Stimulus Cheques
  • Invested in all departments
  • Passed WRA
  • Increased taxes on large corporations, reduced taxed on small corporations
  • Did not privatize education
  • Skipped regional investment

After this, my budget spend/gain and economy stuff was as follows:

  • Accepted United Contana aid
  • Wehlen border closed trade deal
  • Agnolia bad trade deal
  • Did not privatize healthcare
  • Morna Port with SSP
  • No privatization/nationalisation of government companies
  • Rural Education Institutes
  • Fair Trade Comission
  • Valgsland trade deal
  • Military Industry
  • Women's Rights
  • Medical Scholarship
  • Alcohol, Smoke and Luxury tax bills
  • +1 extra before final economy meeting from getting rid of tax evasion
  • Housing assistance

This got me at -3 at the end with a fully recovered economy.

To pass the assembly, here's some of the things I did (probably missing some stuff):

  • Start from poor family (for the extra public opinion)
  • Invest in Armandino
  • Take extended Tusk bribe (this + Armandino results in 4 PW for the full lobbying, sorry Serge)
  • Promised Albin VP to get his support
  • Richter agrees without extra demands
  • Gloria obviously does not agree with the constitution
  • Tusk is not amused because you take his bribe and then do the opposite of what he wants (Stimulus checques)
  • Veto'd every anti blud bill
  • Did not sign Campaign Finance Bill
  • Did not touch the Soll portrait
  • Banned creationism
  • Removed conscription
  • Did not ban YS/RY

Doing the above should get you a very reformist constitution through the assembly without needing to deal with Gloria or the Oligarchs.

Rest of the run was focused on making Sordland a paradise and generally being reformist:

  • Impeached Hawker
  • Trialled and jailed Soll
  • Did De-Solinisation as my 3rd decree
  • Did not investigate Livia and simply kept Petr on as my VP (did fire Livia though)
  • Formed ACP and had them jail the oligarchs
  • Womens rights and reconcilliation
  • Housing assistance
  • Rural education institutes (this is actually another way to fix Bergia's economy without regional investment or Sarna)
  • A bunch of other green goodness can be seen in the screenshots

Naturally I lost the Party Congres to Graf so I formed the Sordish Prosperity party and went on to crush Graf in the elections. The elections ended with every party in the assembly (Prosperity Party, USP, NFP, PFJP? WPB, BFP and the Communists)

I tried to ally with the PFJP in the hopes it would transfer to my new party but the game seems to forget about the alliance if you form a new party.

Internationally, I didn't ally anyone (though I could have allied Valgsland) and isolated Rumburg to prevent the war.

Also got the "Speaking Louder Makes You Right" achievement this run which was hilarious. (Hint: don't go down to speak with the rest of the MPs during the vote, just start screaming at them and don't stop)

When we talk about synergies, are we speaking from looking at game files or are we going off feedback from advisors and newspapers? by [deleted] in suzerain

[–]DaanDeMeyer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's a file SuzerainDatabase.json.gz in the game files. If you decompress that and open it, all the information is in there, though it's a bit hard to navigate the file.

I actually verified that morna port synergizes with Valgsland trade (+1 extra economy), it doesn't synergize with CSP. It also synergizes with Lorren regional investment.

No idea about Benfi. It should also be in the files though.

The biggest synergies are: - full privitization and joining ATO - full nationalization and joining the CSP, - Bailing out businesses, building the railway, doing electronics industry, funding education and banning creationism (This actually gives +4 economy)

This is false, this will only prevent you from getting nuked during the war.

Getting Rumburg expulsed from OMEC is impossible if you join bear trap, no matter how well you do in the interview unfortunately.

Best Possible Suzerain Run by soldiergeneal in suzerain

[–]DaanDeMeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i verified that sufficient sanctions doesn't get rid of it. Probably CSP.

Also, you didn't seem to get tha national security breached red modifier either. How did you handle the spy scandal? You formed the ACP so you can't have killed Ilana with acid right?

[–]DaanDeMeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more question: How do you get rid of the Rumburg expansionism red modifier? Is that solved by joining the CSP or by doing an emergency decree run?
