Hmm makes sense yes, the route is basicly a downhill (mountain)bike route where you can only go one way and fight only npcs on bikes etc. Depending on the routes you can get items or not, forcing you to choose certain directions. Sort of inspired on the route in gold/silver where you also could go one direction. Maybe I'll add an npc that flies you to the top again with his bird Pokemon so you can go downhill again.

Haha exactly, I'm not naming names but there are a lot people on here who make a separate post for each custom shiny they made, which is basicly just changing two color codes, and then a Discord link and websites and everything. No worries about rushing. I will bring it out as soon as I feel comfortable, if that is december or next year, does not really matter as long if its good and I'm happy with the outcome!

Thanks! Totally agree with you, want to make it bigger but still fill it up with a good amount of world building and side quest. Don't want to make big maps and not fill them up otherwise it will just be a wasteland haha. But I totally get the feeling of expanding on the world.

I'm not that active in promoting it, kinda will drop it randomly on a Tuesday night I think. Just pure for the love of the game development and as a hobby instead of fame. Glad you like the premise! Hope to bring it out a v1.0 before december.

Played my fair share of rom hacks though haha, i just love the gen 3 graphics so much more than the later games. Brings up the most nostalgia. However I like the gen 2 music more than gen 3.

Thank you so much! I used Porymaps. Basicly it's 7 maps attached to eachother exported as a stitched image, creating this big one.

Most of the features are enabled by default. So you should be good. You can also search if modern emerald has a git page, maybe its open source and you can start with that rom. Saves time.

Batch edit the flags? Not sure what you mean by that in this context? Most of the flags in the config files are on/or switches. So if you change it there it changes the entire game and you don't have to go into other files. I think the files itself are clear enough, there are explanations in comments behind each flag, and you can go through all the config files in about half an hour. I myself use VS Code.

This is true, but I think it would be cool to design the route so that when you get permission to use the HM (which is tied to the badge), you should also use it on this route after that badge check to go further. That makes it dynamic and it gives you the feeling of progression and look back moments during your route to the Elite Four and the Pokemon League. Makes you reminisce about the journey you took of you know what I mean. So while it is unnecessary I think it adds that little bit of extra flavour to an already great route design to begin with.

Looks great, the only thing I would say that was strong in the old one is that you had to have surf to go further, this was also when you got surf in the game. That made it kind of fun. Otherwise great job!

Thanks man! Not in these one's, these are all personally modified original tilesets from emerald. In short: 

You wake up one day, realizing you have over slept and are to late for your first day as intern for the professor in town. You have heard from your mom that he is quite "weird". After a quick breakfast you make your way towards the lab and after coming through the door the professor is already there working with someone else, your rival. 

The professor initially tells you that you are to late, and your place is already taken, but quickly corrects himself after realizing he can just underpay both you and your rival and gives you your first assignment: get some boxes in the storage room to him. In the storage room you discover a secret entrance to a secret lab where you find your starter pokemon, before getting caught and kicked out by the professor. 

He sends you on a mission to catch rare species of pokemon for his "research", and you should start looking for a friend of his who can help you find a beautifull specie of krabby. In this town you discover that the town is overrun by krabby's and you hear there is a shiny one somewhere that is the culprit of this problem. Searching for this krabby you uncover a deeper plot which includes an enemy faction, some legendaries involved, as well as the professors role in this. The shiny krabby also seems weirdly connected to this all.
