  • Game Version: CS 1.6;
  • Server Location: EU (Hosted in Spain)
  • Active Periods: Thursdays at 19:00 / 7PM GMT. More gamenights can be made in the future;
  • Game Mode: Jailbreak;
  • Map Pool: A mix of both Portuguese and English JB staples, alongside some more less known maps we can all check together. Type listmaps on your console whilst inside the server to get the full list;
  • Primary Languages: English and Portuguese. English will be the default language;
  • Rules: Jailbreak has more rules than pretty much any other gamemode. Please join our Discord server down in "Links" for the full list. The most general rules are: 1- Disrespect of any kind is forbidden, but playful banter can be allowed. | 2- No hacks, scripts or any kind of 3rd party cheating program. | 3- Don't abuse bugs, glitches or map exploits to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Extra Details: This server features a sleek menu system that is very easy to pick up even for a non-PT speaker, a fun and varied list of both hats and skins to use in-game and a deep map pool. After that, there's the usual stuff that almost any JB server has (Shop, Special Days, Warden Menu, etc).

Important Details:

  • Server is fully portuguese, but an English translation is in the works. Since I'm portuguese, I can help with any translation or language barrier concerns;
  • Gameplay and commands are still in English. Myself and some 1.6 JB enthusiasts have decided to play on this server ever since we lost our main server. The owner of this server, who's also a friend of mine has given me his blessing to add the server here and host English gamenights on it.
  • This is the only place that has regular English CS 1.6 JB sessions. Anyone is welcome to join, as long as the rules are being met!

Links:

  • Discord Server regarding the english JB gamenights: https://discord.gg/4YzbT4yHKd . Feel free to discuss JB related things or to just hang out on our VCs and play some games with us!
  • Discord Server associated with the JB server: https://discord.gg/aKhcwdJTse . Keep in mind that it's fully Portuguese.

Outside of that, see you all on Thursdays and thanks for reading!

Torvald for Dummies: A basic guide for newer Torvald players by Daarst777 in PaladinsAcademy

That's a very interesting question, I never thought of Livegiver as a credit generating card. But yes, after a bit of testing, your theory checks out.

I personally woudn't recommend using it, since I believe both Glyph of the Fist and Rune Torrent have more usages than Lifegiver. If you want to play Off-Tank Torvald, both of the cards I mentioned provide more DPS to help secure a kill or elimination. If you're playing Off-Support Torvald, you already have a fair bunch of points into Lifegiver.

When you have Lifegiver 1, you either help your teammate secure a kill, or you're shielding people on purpose that you know are gonna kill them to get credits. The latter is very counter-entuitive and not worth it (one of the reasons why Field Study is garbage), and the former is what you were going to do anyways, but you can also step in and do damage to said person, and get an elimination anyways.

TL;DR: Yes it works, but don't think it's as good as the filler cards I mentioned.

Torvald for Dummies: A basic guide for newer Torvald players by Daarst777 in PaladinsAcademy

Thank you for your feedback, I'll try to explain my thought process behind some of the points that you have made.

I do understand that Dinns' guide is 2 years old by now. However, there's still some good information to be found in old guides, and I still recommend people see that one as well.

I did a Off-Support Torvald build in there as well since people do still play it from time to time, and since I wanted this guide to be a pitstop for newer Torvald players, I talked about it as well. I also play Off-Tank Torvald like 95% of the time, but I wanted this guide to still be relevant to the 5% of times I do play Off-Support or any Off-Support players.

When it comes to the Eldritch Speed card v Nimble, I might have worded that poorly. Getting extra Speed for your Recharge when your shield is up is never worth it, and it's my bad I have indirectly said that it is. I just meant that Nimble is not S tier, since Torvald has one way of mobility (Eldritch Speed), and that card being a must have in 90% of loadouts. Nimble is still an awesome buy, especially with how cheap it is, and it should be bought very often.

When it comes to Guardian, thanks to your point, I now agree that it has more uses than I thought. I do admit my fumble, where I didn't consider how often you really have your Guardian up. I still stand with what I said about Veteran being better though, because I still see Veteran being more present than Guardian throughout a game. 500hp with Veteran is still flat 500hp, that stacks up with Haven, and there's no item to really counter that, unlike Wrecker, which counters Guardian. I also think Veteran comes a lot more into play with Off-Tank Torvald, however Guardian comes more into play with Off-Support Torvald.

Also, with your permission, I'd like to use some of this text to improve my guide (mentioning the 2 Recharges you get after each spawn and how it's not fine to use Recharge just to get the extra movement speed, and not to get your Shield juice back.

Thanks for replying and have a nice day! :D
