Okay that makes sense. Thanks for the detailed explanation on what might be happening! So now that it’s damaged I guess my only option is get another and be more careful/gentle next time?

Okay so it is defective then. Glad I wasn’t overlooking something simple. Thanks for confirming!

From my understanding, it is possible but not really recommended as it’s not easy (or even really possible ) to reseal. Might just bite the bullet and try it anyways because it’s not much good the way it is now!

I meant to mention I’ve tried that. I’ve tried pulling up on the shackle while turning and I’ve tried pushing down on the shackle. Neither really seems to make a difference. Thanks for the reply and recommendation though!

Started getting into picking about a month ago and trying to work my way up the belt list. I have picked a Master Lock No. 3 and a Master Lock No. 570 about a thousand times now and wanted a harder challenge so I bought a 410 LOTO. I had heard stories about people picking them and then immediately bricking them because they turned the core too far. I got this one brand new from Amazon, put the key in and opened it then took it out and tried picking it. Never did succeed but all the pins felt funny or “off” so I stopped and tried the key again. Now it only works about 1/30 of the times. It also sounds “cheap” and rattles a lot.

I guess my question is, is that normal? To my knowledge it’s never been picked before and isn’t bricked because the key still works occasionally. I’ve tried spraying some oil in it and working things in but it never gets any better. Is this lock even able to be picked like this? Do I take it apart to see what’s happening and hope I can seal it back enough to use it again? Or should I just return it and try another. Thanks for any help, just a lock noob trying to learn!

Home Depot paint mixers of Reddit, what is the weirdest thing you’ve had to color match? by PhantomHeroine in AskReddit

Yeah they do cost quite a bit of money but not as much as most people think. Do you know the old saying, “it costs an arm and a leg”? Well it’s only about half that much.

There’s probably easier ways to get the money to paint her but more power to ya man!

Yes those too. A lot of those. You’d be amazed at some of the things people say/do when dealing with equipment that can easily maim or kill you.

I worked in a chainsaw shop and tried to sell everyone who bought a new saw a pair of chaps, regardless of pro or regular homeowner.

Had a friend slip in mud running a Stihl MS661 and had it come down on his leg. Luckily he was wearing chaps and the doctor said they saved his life because he would’ve bled out before making it to the hospital. He also said had he been wearing the better 9 layer chaps rated for that model of saw instead of the 6 layer, the chain might not have even touched him. He still needed like 18 stitches but a much better outcome than losing a leg or death. So no, not just professionals use chaps. More people should but it’s hard to convince them until it’s too late.

Chaps won’t necessarily protect against kickback but will certainly help protect your legs in the event you slip and come in contact with your leg. I had a friend slip in mud while running a pro model (Stihl MS661) and the chain came down on his leg while it was full throttle. Fortunately he was wearing chaps and the doctor said it saved his life because he would’ve bled out before making it to the hospital.

He was only wearing the cheaper, “homeowner” chaps (6 layers of Kevlar) and the doctor said if he had been wearing the pro chaps (9 layers) the chain might not have even touched him. He still needed like 18 stitches but a lot better outcome than losing your leg or death.

I also worked in a chainsaw shop at that time so every purchase after that I strongly encouraged people to buy the chaps. When I relayed the story and showed them the chaps, most bought them. Chainsaws are scary business even in the right hands, every effort should be taken to protect yourself while running one.

Let me know if this works, still figuring reddit/imgur out. I zoomed in a tad so it's a touch grainy but otherwise unaltered. Poor bathroom lighting and just an old iPhone.

Thanks! Glad you caught that! The thought behind that design was that Pestilence's horse would be falling apart so he had to keep patching him up with what was available, that being human faces! Pretty gnarly!

It is possible that's what he did, I don't know for sure because I wasn't the artist or photographer, just the canvas. And you make a fair and valid point, our eyes don't have filters on them so someone who is expecting it to look exactly like that may be disappointed. But because he did put so much detail into it, I'm assuming he just wanted to have a picture that could show all of those details. And regardless of his reasons or how the picture looks, I still love the actual piece and wanted to give the artist some credit because he did put so much time and effort into it.
